I'm in Canberra, the century-old capital city once described as "a good sheep station spoiled". A good little city for raising a family, but no beach

I still haven't made it across the ditch to New Zealand, but it's on my bucket list too. I can't believe I haven't been yet - really nice people, pretty cheap, beautiful scenery and loads to do. If you can make it over to this side of the world one day I think it'd be worth the 22-hour plane trip

The wider forum is a bit if a ghost town since the changeover. Normally I wouldn't have made the time to visit the Cantina, but I'm glad I did. This place is so chilled. The time zone means I miss most of the conversation, but I'm on holiday so catching up in the morning is no biggie

Sounds nice! Well, not the 22-hour plane trip. But I will do it eventually. I did Japan once, and have already said I'll never go there again. Had a great time, but once is enough. I'd rather experience new places. Never been to South America, and it's so much closer to me. I have to go there eventually as well... I have a TON of airline miles saved up, so Australia is definitely calling my name!

So many places to see, so little time I have kids now and they're at the age where they'd really get a lot out of travelling. But they're still too young to put up with a plane trip longer than 10 hours, so it'll be SE Asia first up. I haven't been to Japan, but had a blast in Taiwan - I'd go back there in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I suppose I do need to go back to Asia. At least to see the Great Wall of China... Perhaps even Hong Kong...
