Unfortunately with the big medical bills that will come early February, each $ is important, so I won't be able to join Premium. I slowed down in collecting too, getting only the most important things, and letting go items I didn't really want...

Your post made me feel a bit guilty 'cause I'm not exactly flush with funds either - January is a horror bills month that always takes me until at least March to recover from. But at the end of the day there were just too many good reasons to sign up. My first premium jolly rancher goes to you

No problem my friend. And thanks. The beginning of the year comes with a lot of bills almost everywhere in the world, and is even worse since we already spent some money during the Holidays.

My girlfriend's part-time job will end in June too, after a 14-year handshake agreement with her employer. It's a bummer, but at least we have a few months' notice, hopefully enough that'll allow us to find a good replacement gig for her. We're trying to be positive about it and see this as an opportunity for her to start doing something she can be passionate about. She'd like to set up some sort of creative business for herself - AllisonAmy's jewellery shop is a real inspiration, it'd be great if she could do something like that.

My friend at work has a sister that works as a hair dresser and has a fairly successful business selling hair extensions on the side. It can be done. I wish you both luck. I'm sure AllisonAmy wouldn't mind giving your girlfriend some pointers as well.

Also, I'm liking that the Cantina is becoming 24-hours with our international members. devilof76 and MadCow will have more people to converse with when they're working 3rd shift.

Thanks Boba! I'd love to see her do something for herself - for the past 14 years she's been a teacher, which so often is all about doing things for others. She's a photographer, a mean baker and has an eye for fashion and design - I'm sure there's an opportunity in there somewhere
