re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

BTW, I hate Sideshow's f'n rubber knees... I've somehow missed getting many of them, but the knees on the new Cobra Commander are complete crap. They are a ***** to bend and then for some reason the top of the joint is immobile making the legs unable to straighten out :huh

I can't understand what is wrong with Sideshow that they can't get a ****ing base body right that they've been using for a few years now. Ugh :cuss

I know alot of you are going to the Chicago Con but are any of you close to Louisville KY? they have one in March. so far Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker will be there. They will have a Boondock Saints VIP booth. and good ole Samwise Sean Astin will be there. Im def going only live an hour 20min away!

Has anyone bought a VIP pass for a celeb before? is it worth it? might get the Norman Reedus one because I have the series 1 walking dead figure that is coveted on ebay i would like him to sign!

Have to agree... I love all of the OT films, but ANH just has something that puts it over the top for me. I know ESB is a better movie, but I still prefer ANH.

Same here. But I am kinda bummed because I saw it so young (7) I can't actually remember exactly when, where or how I saw it. And none of my family are interested enough to be able to remember it either.

Warm inside.

:lecture I can attest to the fact that King is indeed warm inside.

I think I have an ear infection. :(

Coincidence?

Just noticed today on my paycheck that I got a raise! Woot!

Kongrats!

I've given up trying to keep up with the thread.

It's nearly impossible for me. So much reading :cuss

I chickened out. Didn't ask the girl to hang out. Strangely, we got into the baby name conversation, though. Pretty weird.

NEVER GIVE UP!

Empire is my favorite

Ditto.

Jedi Luke is my least fav Luke but I love when he's kicking *** with his lightsaber bat on the sail barge.

I don't like any version of Luke Skywalker. Never have, never will.

Holy crap! My Kenner POTF Tatooine Skiff sold for $262. :rock

Nice :rock

I don't understand it myself. For all the positive they can do, they seem destined to consistently **** something up.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Oh wow! What did you pay for it? Congrats!

I don't remember if it's on the old spreadsheet at work of if it was on the one I lost. The funny thing is the auction was at $202 with about a minute and a half left. I about fell out of my chair when I saw the winning bid.

You just went up a notch in my book. :lecture

Rock on brother, isn't it great when you end up on the winning side of eBay :rock

Maybe Sideshow slapped Dave with a cease and desist.

I remember Montgomery Ward from back when I was a kid. They created Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Didn't have toys there when I was growing up, though.

Never saw it in the store but the catalogs were full of everything !

I thought it was more to do with screen real estate.

Really? Personally, I liked the Sideshow Exclusive sticker better. Would have preferred he kept that if not for legal or per Sideshow's request. Oh well. I'm not premium yet anyway.

I liked it too. This one is more condensed but design-wise... meh

Yeah, it was to help prevent an abundant amount of scrolling, or like Lejuan said, screen real estate.

And Dave said the shrunken sticker design looked too much like and acorn :lol

Thus we are left with what we have now.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Mergers and acquisitions always means layoff from my experience. The place I work for got sold last time I worked there and they laid off my whole department. They got sold again, laid off more people and then sold again and a lot of people got re-hired. Now I just found out that this new company is buying another new company and they're already talking about redundancies. It's ridiculous. Also I was there for 3 years last time and never got a raise. I'm coming up on 1 year on this new company and I bet i still don't get a raise. The only time in my life when I got one is when I worked for Citibank and then they laid me off a month later.

Yeah, I think it has been 4 years since our last raise here. It's a small company and no chance of us really getting bought out and whatnot so that's good. One of the vendors I do business with did what you talked about above... got bought out and laid off everyone, but then re-hired them all. Basically since the old company didn't exist anymore they kinda had to do that, but I think it was more of a 'we are going to fire and re-hire everyone so they all loose their benefits and seniority'. Not sure how that worked out or if they did all lose their seniority etc. I think a lot of the people are still there, but one guy I know waited a month or so and then put in for retirement... said he was bailing before things got bad.
