re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I know alot of you are going to the Chicago Con but are any of you close to Louisville KY? they have one in March. so far Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker will be there. They will have a Boondock Saints VIP booth. and good ole Samwise Sean Astin will be there. Im def going only live an hour 20min away!

Has anyone bought a VIP pass for a celeb before? is it worth it? might get the Norman Reedus one because I have the series 1 walking dead figure that is coveted on ebay i would like him to sign!

Do you mean the Wizard World Louisville Convention? I'm just west of Indianapolis so it's not far from me. Looks to be mainly celebrities at the show and not many comic book artists etc. So I don't think I'll be going. If I were to go to one out that way it would probably be the Lexington Comic Con as we have a friend that is going to be a vendor there.

As I refuse to venture into the discussion thread on the new movies.... I post it here amongst friends..

I have to say I am not mad about the idea of Hugo Weaving as an Imperial Commander.

I don't remember if it's on the old spreadsheet at work of if it was on the one I lost. The funny thing is the auction was at $202 with about a minute and a half left. I about fell out of my chair when I saw the winning bid.

That's happened to me more times than I can count. I've had stuff with NO bids up until the last 60 seconds and then it's an all out bidding war. I don't get it. It sucks as a buyer but is great as a seller.

DAAAAAAAMN! I'll take a Slave 1 and that Play-doh set. Thanks! :p

Never saw it in the store but the catalogs were full of everything !

I really don't remember store displays like that but do remember seeing figures on the shelf. The big stores for me were Bradlees, Caldor and Jamesway and occasionally Woolworths. I didn't step foot in a Toys r Us until I was a teenager. Most of my toy shopping was done through catalogs like Service Merchandise, Sears and JC Penneys. Getting the annual Wish Book in the mail was my favorite day of the year.

Have to agree... I love all of the OT films, but ANH just has something that puts it over the top for me. I know ESB is a better movie, but I still prefer ANH.
ANH had more creatures, like the cantina and jawas, and kinda had more substance to the story. ESB had more exciting battles (Hoth, Bespin duel). They are very different films, and difficult to compare. But ESB wins strictly because it had Yoda! :lecture

I assume that's a Wizard World. I hate them. They are pretty much all about the autographs, and at inflated prices. Their admission price is ridiculous for what they offer, their programming sucks and their dealers room doesn't compare to other conventions. I don't mean to dissuade you from going, especially if Louisville doesn't get conventions very often. I stopped going to Chicago Wizard World because it doesn't even come close to the level of C2E2.

I thought that was a booth from a convention at first!
Really? Personally, I liked the Sideshow Exclusive sticker better. Would have preferred he kept that if not for legal or per Sideshow's request. Oh well. I'm not premium yet anyway.
I concur with all of your statement.

Is that the latest rumor? I've pretty much stopped reading anything about these movies.

Two guys bid during the last 10 seconds. That's how it jumped up $60. :rock

I don't know what kind of rumor it is. I just read he was approached and discussed a role and that is what he was being considered for.

I like you, have given up on any threads or rumors. I only really want to know about casting.

I had really hoped they would have pulled in that Saoirse Ronan, she has the chops and diversity for the characters she would have been in to play.

I was up with an allergy attack and rewatched Dune for the first time in about 25 years. God, it was sooooo good. There's just something about the look and feel of 70's and 80's sci-fi that really gets to me.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Please be on the lookout for these if you are near the hot wheels aisle... I'm gonna need a few of them!

No, it just has to run it's course. I guess the ear drum is flipped or something and that will eventually pop back in place but until then the fluid will be trapped in there.

I hate lame crap like this.

@Waller, congrats on the Skiff sale! That's your Vader money right there.

@JJJ, half way there already? Is there a Lego store close by to buy one and avoid shipping cost?

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Those are bad ***, Steve!! What other cars are in the line?? I need me a pink Simpson's car!

No clue, it's just a car in with the rest of the regular hot wheels like Herbie, Knight Rider, A-Team, etc. they've been doing over the last couple years. It's not a full Simpsons line. Although Johnny Lightning did some of those years ago...
