I guess the director they're thinking of using hated the Jango clone storyline, so he wants to sort of undo it by having the mysterious Boba Fett we know from the original trilogy kill the Jango clone and steal his ship and armor, which would make him his own separate character from what was introduced in the prequels.

I guess the director they're thinking of using hated the Jango clone storyline, so he wants to sort of undo it by having the mysterious Boba Fett we know from the original trilogy kill the Jango clone and steal his ship and armor, which would make him his own separate character from what was introduced in the prequels.

I could accept that.

And that could go a long way to making Boba not the dumb sh%t who got knocked into a big hole by a blind guy haphazardly wielding a stick. I could never respect the character who went out like such a twat if they try to make him a badass in future films.

I think it is unnecessary. Why go through all that bull****? Just don't have him take his helmet off, then the director can pretend he's different if he wants. But to come up with that silly storyline is pointless IMO.

Anyway, I just discovered the Google had scans of old newspapers. I found the scans from when Star Wars was first released in Milwaukee... On Wednesday, June 22, 1977! Yep, a month after the initial release. And here's the best part! Back then, ads for movies listed the actors starring in a movie. But for Star Wars it says “R2D2 and C3PO” in... Star Wars! I realize they were mostly unknowns, but they could have listed Alec Guinness at least!

If the director goes with that storyline, the Boba in the new solo films would be the Boba from the OT... therefore still dying in the Sarlaac Pit. Cause from what Ben says, he would kill the Jango Boba kid from the Prequels, and start off as Boba Fett of the OT in 4,5,&6 that we already knew and loved.

Eh. Seems like a lot of work to change something. Just make a bad *** movie of him hunting down people. Don't care about his back story. Didn't care when I was 10 and saw empire and don't care now. Think borne identity meets Star Wars meets smurfs meets Argo meets my little pony meets 4 weddings and a funeral. Will be brilliant.

If it were up to me, I'd scrap the prequels altogether with the expanded universe stuff and have Disney re-do them.
