re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

So SSC posted pics of the '89 Batman PF.... and thankfully, I don't think I need to get it. I was sure it was going to be an instant purchase... but I think I'll pass on it. Same with the Reeves Superman PF... I don't care for the pose on that one at all, and if I'm skipping that one, I think I can skip Batman! I think the HT version of each will be good enough for me. :)

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I think you can make a great Boba Fett movie using the character that exists. Killing him off and setting up some new guy seems like a waste of time to me.

But who cares, where's the Bossk movie? Man, I loved that gun he used in Dark Forces.

EDIT: The more I think about it, Dark Forces might be my favorite video game ever.

They are notorious for bad PF poses.

This is very true. There are a few PFs I've passed on because of the pause. Case in point, Chewbacca. I know him holding the Bowcaster is iconic but it's the same posed used for every Chewbacca piece so far: GG Statue, GG Busts, GG Animated Maquette, Koto Statue, Attakus Statue. All of which I have. I would have liked to see Sideshow do something different.

Well that ride to work sucked. What normally takes me 45 mins, today took me 2.5 hours and there are times I almost didn't make it. And the way that the weather looks, I'm going to have to stay over tomorrow, leaving my family stranded at home. Ugh, I'm so tired of this weather.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I think it is unnecessary. Why go through all that bull****? Just don't have him take his helmet off, then the director can pretend he's different if he wants. But to come up with that silly storyline is pointless IMO.
Eh. Seems like a lot of work to change something. Just make a bad *** movie of him hunting down people. Don't care about his back story. Didn't care when I was 10 and saw empire and don't care now. Think borne identity meets Star Wars meets smurfs meets Argo meets my little pony meets 4 weddings and a funeral. Will be brilliant.

I thought the clone army plot was bad. Robots vs. Clones takes away the the drama that you felt with the original films with the small band of rebel soldiers against the gigantic, nearly unstoppable Empire. You can always make more battle droids or clones after all.

I'd be happy with the change just so it could be used as an excuse to get rid of the Temuera Morrison voice and return it to the original, superior Jason Wingreen voice. This is all in my personal opinion, by the way.

Actually not King
If the director goes with that storyline, the Boba in the new solo films would be the Boba from the OT... therefore still dying in the Sarlaac Pit. Cause from what Ben says, he would kill the Jango Boba kid from the Prequels, and start off as Boba Fett of the OT in 4,5,&6 that we already knew and loved.
Yea, why not just mention he escaped the sarlaac pit instead of all that jibba jabber.........:dunno

This is correct. Although, who's to say that they don't just do the killing of stupid kid Boba clone as a prologue and have the main plot of the movie set after he escapes the Sarlaac? I'd prefer something like that. That would be the ultimate for me.

I'm sure that George had some clauses during the sale of Lucasfilm preventing them from screwing with anything he had done...

I think you're right. I'm just going on about my idealized world where there are no Clone Troopers and Anakin didn't start out as a 9 year old kid in the first movie and turn into a creepy, wooden mannequin man in the subsequent sequels.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I'm starting to regret not getting the Hot Toys '89 Joker DX08... :( If anyone sees a good deal on one let me know. Wish it was still on SSC site cause I'd have used my Spook points on that for sure.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

It's kind of a relief... The Batman I might get eventually, but the Supes does nothing for me.

I'm no Neca lover, but I think some of their recent 1/4 figures are a better value for your dollar than the stuff Sideshow and Hot Toys put out. I got the 18" Adam West for $60 and it's not perfect, but it's good enough that I don't feel the need to drop nearly $500 on a Hot Toys one if they ever decide to do one.

He's one of my favorite figures. I'll let you know if I see any good deals on him.

I've always considered NECA the most frustrating company because you just can't predict the final product. Some stuff comes out spectacular, some comes out like old Jakks figures. They have definitely improved recently, though. And I agree that some of the 18" figures are great, and great for the price. I'd like to pick up both Batmans at some point.

They really do seem to be getting quite a bit better with a lot of their stuff lately. They still have their missteps, though. The 6" Pacific Rim Jaegers have loose joints and the plastic they used on their most recent Aliens warrior was rubbery crap. I think they've traditionally done the best with their creature sculpts. I really like their Gremlins line.

I want to get the 18" Keaton Batman as well. I saw him at FYE and he looks pretty cool.

The Death Star is built. :rock

Congratulations, Rich! How did the elevator go?

I'm wondering if you can't go higher than eight green jolly ranchers. I currently have 1053 in fun reputation points.
