Alex Ross bases his designs on Sideshow sculpts. Stormtrooper Luke and the ANH Leia were clearly his inspiration here.

Read it today. It's a fairly good issue.

So I got a chance to watch the Star Wars porno this weekend. Nothing will mess you up more than watching Chewbacca have sex with two female Stormtroopers. Seeing the Tonnika sisters enjoy each other's company was a little strange, too.

Yeah, he did a Planet of the Apes cover the same way, complete with the inaccuracies of the figures. No research on the subject matter is a pretty poor way for the artist to present it. Even worse when it gets approved and used.

Alex Ross is probably the most overrated artist in the industry. He's an excellent model painter. No more, no less. His original designs are okay (movie Green Goblin concept) to awful (Bucky Cap Costume). And from what I've heard, he's a conceited toolbag.

Nah, He's not too much different than any other artist I've met. I've hung out with him quite a few times over the years (we have some common friends) and yeah he has some quirks but is actually pretty down to Earth. He's just an artist who had a butt-load of money thrown at him from all different directions at a young age and had a few people taking advantage of him.

Never met him. But what I've heard all comes from people I trust who met him at events he was paid to be at. It's all good. I do admire his work, but it is what it is.

Yeah, that's how I feel. I had breakfast with Jim Lee and he seemed okay and then watched him act a total *** to a friend of mine on the con floor.

On the flipside, just because you have a talent doesn't mean you have the social skills to meet & greet. Unfortunately it's all part of the job nowadays.
