re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Guardians really does have it all. Probably my favorite movie of the summer. Ronan the Accuser was pretty badass even though he wasn't really developed all that well. He's actually a hero in the comics sometimes, but just seemed pure evil in this one. I enjoyed the connections to the Marvel cosmic universe and I thought they did it in a way that made the characters relatable and believable. Now I just really want the Hot Toys.

I didn't hate Man of Steel like some others did. They did make Superman a bit too moody and depressed, but I got the impression they were trying to show his sense of isolation as the last of his kind, which is something that's explored in the comics as well, just not usually in such a dark and dreary way. I'm still pretty excited about the Batman/Superman movie. It'll be nice to have a Batman that doesn't have to be all grounded in reality like they tried to do with the Nolan version.

I don't hate MOS. I like it. But I feel nothing for Superman. Felt nothing for Bale Batman. Dark internal struggle is only interesting if there are other character traits that make these people endearing. The DC movies are gloom porn. People can counter that Marvel goes too light but they are undeniably winning when it comes to making characters you care about. I cared more about Peter in 10 minutes than I ever did about Clark. Because the first ten minutes are about him, not about his Important mission to save the Krypto....zzzzzzzzzz.

I have a feeling I'm gonna want the LEGO sets, huh??!!! :lol :lol

I know I do!

Start over with what?

Selling isn't that bad as long as you're 100% honest. If you get 1 ********* for every 10 sales then you're still making out ok.

For me, I could never start over. There are things I've obtained that I'd never be able to afford again. If I quit and sold it al, that would be the end of it.

I don't have a lot of irreplaceable treasures. Just junk. :)

HA! I just came here to say that I just broke my "no new Blu Ray" rule by ordering this Target exclusive:

I'm arguing with people in the Hot Toys Star Lord thread.

Never post in movie threads.

How the hell did I not know that this existed?

So I woke up this morning with Come and Get Your Love in my head and I still want every GOTG figure.

What's with all the Guardians/Star Wars mash-ups?

Is it wrong that I like the nerfherders one :panic:

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Maybe I'm just a sick person, but I can watch schindlers list over and over. :lol

I want to want to rewatch it... but damn it is it a rough movie. Interestingly when we were in Europe 2 years ago we had a walking tour of Krakaw and there were a few spots we walked through were they did filming for the movie. Quite sad as it was also a area that less than 10% of the residents survived the war. Great, now I'm sad again and I didn't even watch the movie!!!

Man it must have been a long time since I saw the theatrical cut, I had totally forgotten how bad Tangerine Dream's score was. Its so odd and out of place at times. I've been watching the DC for more than a decade now I guess, had rose colored memories of Tangerine Dream :lol....This is terrible.

I tried to tell you... the original soundtrack is acceptable if that's all you have and I was able to tolerate it since I love the movie. But it ****ing sucks and is garbage next to the Goldsmith score.

:rock :rock :rock :rock

I think after Highlander I'm gonna watch Big Trouble in Little China :yess:

Man, great marathon of movies... in case you haven't seen it in awhile I'd throw Neverending Story in there. I always enjoy that one :rock :rock

I think I may start off with a Kurt Russell block: Escape From New York, The Thing and Big Trouble in Little China.

All great films :rock :rock :rock

We watched Totoro just last week. I've been showing a few of these to my wife and daughter.

I'd forgotten about Grave of the Fireflys being by them... super sad movie, but very well done.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

So I've been straightening up my basement a bit and putting away some new things and realized I need to sell off a ton of my comics. I will probably sell off most of my Marvel and DC stuff which will clear out a ton of space for sure. Hopefully I can set up at a small con soon and sell them all at once to a dealer or something.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I wish I could do something similar with my DC Universe Classics collection. I have so many of them just taking up space, but I don't want to ship them or sell them all individually on Ebay.

Try contacting BigBadToyStore about buying them. They would buy them all at once.

Take a pic and do one big lot on ebay. You won't get as much as individuals but you probably do better than selling to a dealer.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Or do small lots.

Put a desired fig with some lesser ones and you can kill two birds with one stone.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Rick, I ordered one for you. Let me know if you don't need it.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Figures Madcow would beat me. My cookie expired, which caused delays! :impatient:

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

That's not a bad idea. It's not too far to ship them either.

Just shoot them an email with what you have. They will send you an offer of what they will pay you.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

And the insurance company just denied my claim fit the water damage In my crawl space so I'm back to being ****ed and needing to find $6k in like 2 weeks.

I posted about it at 10:40 but then deleted it when the site wouldn't let me checkout and had error messages, it would say it was an invalid URL whenever I tried checkout so I deleted the post. I sent Avfin a text about it as well, but haven't heard back.

Can you just take $6K off the asking price?
