re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

It was Ok. I personally look to seeing the transformation of Bruce Wayne and his relationship with Alfred.
As well as seeing Gordon grow.
The rest is filler to me.

CRAP ! that would have been a great time to come ! The whole month was free and the weather is perfect ! :(

I did find a flight for 115 round trip

Awww, I thought it was good stuff. :lol

This is why I don't like art, i never know what I'm looking at. :(

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Yeah, I much prefer to see someone's idea of SW, not how good they can replicate a iconic photo or still from the film .

It's still hard work. And he doesn't trace, he uses photos as references. And he also does create stuff from his head. Look at his paintings. And for tracing, the technical term is light boxing, but then again you guys are the experts. ;)

The tracers comment was a Chasing Amy quote. Don't get your panties in a twist.

I liked them too! I like the pencil technique he uses, and I've always loved the pops of color like that too.

So says the guy with a Little Pony avatar. Ouch! Nah, it's just writing him off as having no skillset, when he clearly does. Lots of artists (yes artists), use photos as references. Not everyone does that well... and it's also the unique style... the way he does his line work that gives it a nice unique edginess to the work.

Speaking of edgy, also edgy because my mother just had a ruptured appendix. And while she should be okay, she's still not out of the woods yet. She still might need surgery. And while not life threatening, it was hard seeing a healthy woman in a hospital, especially after losing my dad and grandmother last year. So yeah... I come in guns-a-blazing.

Oh, no! Someone let Eli back in! :panic:

I am getting Pink Floyd's new album November 10th! Just a day before my Birthday. One of my favorite bands coming out around my Bday... eeee! What a nice present for me. Of course as you know, I'll be getting it on vinyl.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

The only thing that bugs me is a few digital artists who simply paint over photos. But even then...whatever floats your boat. As long as you're honest.

That's exactly why I like his work, whether he goes based on pictures as reference, part of the art is the technique he uses. In the end it still takes a great talent to pull off what he does. And yes I have a designer art background, and come from a family of graphic designers and illustrators. Of course this doesn't mean I know more than the next guy. I just know that he's no hack either. But art is subjective and not everyone's cup of tea. I prefer Norman Rockwell to Pablo Picasso. Actually, my friend Cailtlyn Ambery is pretty impressive. You guys should take a look at her work. Again, it's an inquired taste, but I like the energy and movement in her work.

The only way to go. :lecture

I'm not a real fan of digital work... prefer traditional... but I won't deny I love using Adobe Illustrator... especially for designing logos.

My Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack is slated for today. Hopefully my record store has it in. It's funny, prior to restoring my grandmother's 1963 floor cabinet/stereo/turn table set up, I purchased zero music in the past several years. Since it's restoration, just over a year ago I have spent into the hundreds on vinyl. Damn. And I have had this thing for a good 15 years and different record players prior to that. Always had a turntable, even when I was a wee lad. It's exciting to buy music again. I just wished Peter Gabriel would reissue his old music on new vinyl.
