Nice haul! Love the LR minifig and the soldiers/cannon set.

Thanks man! Yeah they look great!

My most anticipated sets now are the XWing out tomorrow and the Tower of Orthanc. Both pricey sets, I know. But that's how I LEGO roll. :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Who here is a member of the Gentle Giant PGM? I'm having a hard time deciding on what I want to pick as my free gift...
It's down to the clear Vader bust and the vintage proto giant Boba Fett.
I don't collect the giant vintage figures, but part of me thinks it will be worth some $ down the line. I do collect the SW busts, but I would hate to get the Vader only to see it still in stock months from now when I could use my $30 coupon on it.
No real interested in the Mace Windu or the War Machine. Although Mace could be worth $ down the line too, but I don't really collect many of the prequel busts.

I went with the War Machine bust.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I would go for the vintage Boba. Of all the choices, that one's likely the one to sell for more later on.

Yeah I agree, but I collect the busts and would have to buy the Vader bust... and don't know if I should gamble on it being available later.

I am sure that will be great in person! I just bought the Deadpool at C2E2 and it is excellent! Love the size of it.

It should look pretty sweet. They didn't do anything this year with The Hobbit for it so I just went with the next best thing for me. I didn't really care for any of the SW items enough to go with those.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I am also taking a half day today to go see Iron Man 3.
On IMAX or regular 3D? I saw regular 3D, but want to see IMAX still. Gonna see it for the 2nd time tomorrow. Last night they were giving out the exclusive 3D glasses again. I have a set of all 4. They're pretty neat. Besides looking cool, they fit over regular glasses nicely, unlike the normal Real3D glasses.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Ya it opens today here in the US of A.
Technically yes, but the standard for a while now has been that major releases open on Thursday night the day before. There were showings at 8:00, 9:00, 9:30, and 10:00 last night at Mayfair. I saw it on Monday though! :nana:

I am. I'm getting the Proto Fett, but I do collect those. Hard to say what will be worth $ down the line. It really depends on how many are made, I suppose. Dunno if they released that info. As for using the $30 coupon, I plan on using it this weekend. They're giving $20 in bonus rewards points for all in-stock orders. I don't see anything stating you can't combine the promotions, so that's what I plan on doing.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

They announced the SDCC exclusives??? What else they got?

I'm not sure. I just saw the post about Boba Fett in the Hasbro thread.

In other news, I got hosed by Mondo again. It's pretty sad when you can't even get these things from home when you're refreshing every two seconds.

Ohhh, you're talking about Hasbro. We had been talking about Gentle Giant before your comment, so I thought you meant a SDCC exclusive Fett bust.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

They turned me off before I could even try to buy one of their posters... Screw all that hastle.

They're not worth it. Its much easier to just pay a bit more and get things off ebay whenever you want. Not to mention they're run by some pretty rude people who are kind of stuck on themselves.

Sometimes even if you like the product you have to express your disinterest with the company by not supporting them, and that's the stance I've taken with Mondo. F 'um.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I really wanted to get the Iron Man 3 regular for myself and variant for my friend. I probably could have gotten through if I just went for the reg, but my friend was in a meeting and I wanted to help him. Oh well.

Pretty much. I still haven't gotten The Avengers print and won't get this one until I find a good price. They started the end with me when they put up the Stout Captain America print during Comic-Con and it was only online. They didn't bring any to their booth making it impossible for those at the con to get it. They're just not worth the trouble.

Ink got one of the Iron Man 3 prints for you. Go to the Mondo thread.
