re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I've been home since Tuesday but I've got Penny so I've watched a lot of Sofia the First.
Luckily I mowed the lawn yesterday when my wife got home.
My Mom's coming over today to watch Penny so I can do some artwork! :yess:

Of all the kids shows I was forced to watch, Sofia was probably my least favorite. Yo Gabba Gabba was my ****.

This has always been one of my favorite behind-the-scenes shots.

I'm ashamed of my yard right now, weeds are as tall as Taco, that's not exactly saying a lot, but still :lol

Mine is ****ed up because we had an above ground pool put in but my backyard is on a slope and they had to dig down 2 feet on the high end to level it all out. So between that and the trench that had to be dug for electrical, my yard looks like a BMX track. I'm totally regretting the decision because now I need to hire a landscaper to clean everything up and build a retaining wall.

Yeesh.

Yeah, I'm just lazy and have tall weeds :(

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I need a chainsaw to mow mine..:lol....its not so much a yard as it is a forest of weeds.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Im sure theres a rattle snake nest in there somewhere.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Maybe you'll find The Shire amongst the weeds.

Can I come ride the backyard BMX track?:lol

there was one house I was looking at that had a huge backyard and my plan was to put in a pump track, which is basically a small BMX track.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Taking some time for myself and finally getting around to watching the VHS copy of GI Joe the Movie I picked up a few weeks ago. I think I'll hang some stuff on my walls too.

Sure, come on down! :lol

Seriously, that's awesome you would do that. I used to love riding small tracks and trails back in the day though I always used a mountain bike as I couldn't ride BMX for ****. They were always too light for me and I'd end up flipping them.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

So awesome... although the co-op thing is a bit of a turn off. I guess I'd have to see how it works, but I prefer to just play when I want to w/o having to organize with others.

I'd definitely like to play with Cantina friends, but just now sure how well that would work with the small windows of time I have :lol

I don't feel like getting my ass handled to me buy basement gamers for hours on end.

Yeah, that's a definite concern. Nothing more frustrating than getting my ass handed to me by someone I can tell isn't even trying.

:lol

That's my only custom Joe I didn't have anything to do with, I just bought it from elvis :lol

Awkward...

I had extra time this past week to do something about it, but binge watching OISNB, GoT and making G I Joe dolls took precedence. :)

Did you get the Cobra Commander sculpt from Pacemaker? I got mine in today, it's incredible. Guy really did impressive and very clean work.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

The guy next door always mows his lawn at 8:00 at night and it pisses me off.

Today's my half day at work, so I started at 7:00 and get out at 11:30 AM. It's one of the only nice perks I have here.

When we lived in our apartment there was an a-hole who did the same thing. After the lawn he would spend an hour weed-wacking. We called him The Mad Wacker.

Of all the kids shows I was forced to watch, Sofia was probably my least favorite. Yo Gabba Gabba was my ****.

I don't mind Sofia. The songs are not bad sometimes and I like shows that put the work into writing new songs all the time. But when I first had to watch it I called it Sofia the Worst. Took a while.

This has always been one of my favorite behind-the-scenes shots.

This is my favorite, and current desktop wallpaper.

First of all, jealous - I don't even own the Joe movie. I'm actually trying to get all my Kreo's together to list on Ebay. Kind of a bummer but they're just in a bin.

Second - the combo of recently checking out all the cool wall art in WDW Animal Kingdom and going to the Indy exhibit had me finally finding some direction with your TOD painting. Woke up in the middle of the night and did an hour on it last night/this morning. :)

Sure, come on down! :lol

My brother used to race BMX bikes in Freehold. That track was the first place I drank Gatorade, which came in a can. I also remember I got G1 Skids at Bradlees one day before we went to the track. Gooood times. :)

So while I was laying in bed last night thinking about KD's custom Quick Kick, it reminded me of one of my favorite toy-gets as a kid.

I had been looking for Quick Kick because I loved Joe and I loved Bruce Lee and other martial arts movies that were always on back then. Couldn't find him anywhere. One day my Mom took me grocery shopping (Food Town in Woodbridge, for you Jersians). Inexplicably, in the frozen food section - the part with the open coolers - there was a box of Joe figures, full of Quick Kicks! My Mom was very generous but you couldn't just get something every time we went out. So she told me if I stood on the Customer Service line for her to redeem a coupon she had, I could get Quick Kick. Needless to say I rocked Customer service hard, and my Mom got her $1 rebate. And I got the spokesman for Frozen Fudgies. To this day QC is one of my favorite figures and I feel compelled to buy whatever version of him gets released.

Anybody else have a favorite "I got it!" story from childhood?

My kids never took it the show completely so I never had the time to enjoy it, I guess.

He looks like he's getting ready to sucker punch that Tauntaun.

First, this is the first time I've seen the movie since I was a kid. It holds up pretty well much like Transformers the Movie. The nostalgia is creeping up bad. This could get ugly...

Second... :panic: :rock :panic: I seriously can't wait to see it. The office walls are still pretty bare because I want to give it the best dedicated space. Color me excited! :)

Soooo much nostalgia in one statement. I totally remember Gatorade in cans. My mom was an assistant manager for a Pathmark and she used to bring home samples of new products all the time. One day she showed up with a few cases of Gatorade and I think I drank almost all of it in a weekend. It was sooo good... And a lot of my chilhood toys came from Bradlees. We used to live right up the street from the one in West Caldwell. I vividly remember getting G1 Mirage and a GI Joe Zartan there amongst many others. Gooood times indeed!

The Willowbrook Mall used to have a comic book shop in it that also sold toys. One day my Mom kept me out of school just for the hell of it and we went to the Mall to get my haircut. I saw G1 Grimlock in the window of the shop and begged her to no end to get it for me. She tried to push it off for whatever reason but now looking back I know it was because she was a single mom at the time and probably didn't have the money. To my surprise, while I was getting my haircut she snuck over to the shop and got it for me. That's still one of my greatest childhood memories, ever.

Childhood begging. I think the only thing that comes close to that urgency is people who end up owing the mob.
