re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I think I like it because it looks like a big action figure. Cost will of course determine my ultimate decision.

Ben, Mondo also mentions Godzilla:

"Also on display at San Diego Comic-Con will be a massive 16" GODZILLA based on the preview poster Phantom City Creative did for Mondo two Comic-Cons ago. I'm told your eyeballs will melt out of your head when you see it, so treat it like an Arc of the Covenant moment and send some kid over to test the waters first. Someone else's kid, of course."

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I like that they have the different skin tones like the original action figures. If the Threezero ones are all the same shade and without the different colored masks, I think I'll prefer the Mondo ones. I guess Mondo's already working on Shredder, Krang, and Casey Jones too. They're also doing a life-size Casey Jones mask.

I saw that they're working on a statue or something based on that poster. I have the variant of the poster and think it's pretty cool, but the rough sculpture I saw of it didn't look so great. I think it works well as a poster, but I don't think I want a statue of a pile of rubble shaped like Godzilla. I'll be interested in seeing the finished product anyway, though.

Celebration is definitely not every year. :lecture

Europe does not count! :lecture
That's funny, cuz the logo says CELEBRATION EUROPE. And so do all of the products they sell, and the stage hosts, and Mary Franklin. Looks like Celebration to me!

Will Kenben really be there, or will it just be another sighting of Yellow Kenben? :dunno
I guess you'll have to go to London and find out! :lecture

:lol

And for you vinyl hounds...

I'm not into vinyl (unless it's Funko Pop!), but that's beautiful!

Wow... Who's in for one?

Good call, Commander!

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I wish NECA had done 1:6 versions of their comic turtles.

Lots of jr economists telling us how the price makes sense or how everything is too expensive.

Hey, now.

And for you vinyl hounds...

Will it be available for 10 seconds like Phantasm was? Maybe 20, because Aliens is so much less popular a movie...

**** Mondo.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Would rather have the Falcon lobby and Dejarik table to utilize the droids to. And Luke could be practicing with his saber and blast shield.

That actually sounds a lot better than the cockpit.

Hopefully they do one.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Holy ****!!! :horror

I haven't bought a TMNT figure since the NECA comic figures but I could easily be tempted to buy at least 1 of these.

They do look very interesting.

Their tails look like little wieners. They look pretty cool, but I have a feeling they're going to be really expensive and they don't have any 1/6 scale mix media features. They kind of look like blown up versions of the Neca Ninja Turtles. ThreeZero has the license for the comic Turtles as well, so it'll be interesting to see how the two compare.

That is hard to unsee!

Yes, very interested in how ThreeZeros turtles turn out.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

The Djarik table is one of my favorite pieces (and it was only $50). Still only have one figure to sit at it, and he just turned up a few months ago.

Aw man, I want Aliens. :(

So sad about James Horner too.

**** all this Mondo talk!

Ben, did you see today's Google page?

I have the NECA group and the recent Revoltech turtles because I'm a sucker for hyper-articulation and like the contemporary take on them. They're also one of the only collectibles I own that my girl unabashedly loves, so there's some common ground.

The Mondo turtles look great so far, but the price will likely be punitive...

No! Cannot...unsee...

Is it confirmed that ThreeZero will do the comic turtles as well? That complicates things.

(Still sees Turtle organs).

Actually, I guess their reproductive organs would depend on the extent of the mutation. Technically, turtles have a hemi***** housed somewhere around the base of the tail or further, that gets extended through the vent as...um....necessary. :horror

Edit: Really? The p-word is censored?

Totally agree, these look cool... but not really what I'd consider a 1/6 figure. Not that a lot of mixed media would be possible, but they could have gone with leather for the weapon harness and fabric for the masks.

And the wiener tail is very creepy :lol
