Aliaz wow that's sad to hear, you both seemed so happy once you knew you were pregnant.

Sorry to hear that. :(. My wife and I went through the same thing 5 years ago. It takes time to heal. We now have a beautiful 3 year old daughter. Miscarriages are more and more common these days. Again, I'm sorry.
So sorry to hear that. Congrats on getting a kid after that. :)

Yeah it's going to take awhile but since it's already been two weeks since we first got the word we have been able to process it abit and can look forward. We were at the hospital today to get a D&C (I think thats what the procedure is called in english...anyway, to empty the uterus). The one good thing is that it happened quite early (around week 5-6) so it wasn't a big procedure. We had a wonderful doctor too and that has been a huge help. And the miscarriage was not because there was anything wrong with either of us, just something that happened to go wrong in the earliest stages of development. So atleast nothing is stopping us from trying again.
Oh, man. Sorry to hear that happened. :(

Damn A, sorry for your loss :1-1:

Oh man, so sorry for your loss, Aliaz. :(
Thank you all!

Yeah it was a real suckerpunch to have the nurse at our first ultrasound say that there was nothing there. Especially since my GF had really bad pregnancy symptoms the first weeks. So we were hoping and expecting to hear heartsounds and instead nothing. And then we had to wait another week to check again, but by that time we had pretty much given up hope. After another negative result we got sent on to the hospital were they did another ultrasound just to check and they could see a tiny little embryo with their advanced ultrasound. So we had to wait another week just because the doctors had to be sure before "aborting" since they did see something. These past 2 weeks have been real ******. So today was almost a relief since now we can start putting it behind us.

We are still determined to have kids, and I think we have become even more close after having gone trough this.

Sorry to hear that Aliaz.

Sorry to hear. I know how that is and it hurts.

I pre-ordered Han and Chewie a couple days ago through Alter Ego. Maybe I should have as I'm seriously considering quitting my job and looking for something better.
Alter Ego is sold out now, too. :(

*real life crap I have to get off my chest*

Well after two weeks of the worst emotional rollercoaster I've ever had it's now certain, we had a miscarriage. It's a horrible feeling but atleast now we can move on from it and look forward. And friends and family have once again reminded us of how lucky we are to have their support.

Carry on.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how you guys feel. But you must remain positive, and try again, once you both have emotionally "healed". You're both young, which is always in your favor.

Hang in there, Aliaz. :( I have no idea how rough this must be. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you. It's been rough, it's a f-ed up situation and it's not something I would wish upon anyone.

Still it's made us realise how lucky we are to have eachother and our families. The level of support whe have gotten is beyond me really. Even on here, it helps just to put things in writing. Now that everything is sorted we look to the future, still certain that we want kids.

And to keep it Star Wars-related: I could not be with her during the procedure today so I decided to spend the time buying something for her. I'm not a flowers kind of guy so I went to a local nerd shop and got her a POP! Chewbacca Hoth-version that now watches over her from her nightstand. And she liked it! :)

Yep, she's a keeper!

In your defense, you only had like a year to pre-order it from dozens of stores around the world.

Aliaz - sorry to hear about your loss. Best to you and your fiance...this too shall pass!

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Aliaz, if my mom had not lost her first pregnancy, I would not exist. I can't imagine that helps what you guys are feeling, but it's something to consider.
