re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Hmmm, that isnt terrible. He was at wizard wprld in chicago 2 years ago. I swear he cost more there, but maybe I'm wrong...

I paid $50 for Shatner years ago, and at the time that was a lot for me. Coulda had Nimoy for the same price, but I couldn't afford both at the time. Really wish I had. They were sitting next to each other, so at least I saw him up close...

That is too cool! Yeah, since I don't collect anything besides LEGO, I figure I have the money for autographs and maybe a few comics here and there. No more exclusives for me! (Unless they are LEGO!) :rotfl:rotfl

I'm probably the only person in the world who wants to meet Shatner because of TJ Hooker.

And Professor Xavier!

I always forget about him in that, lol.

Hi Buffy! :wave

I will never forget paying $125 for Mark Hamill, where Carrie Fisher was only $50. But in the heat of the moment, and with a great poster for the two of them to sign, I got caught up in the fun of it, and just went for it. I think CV was Mark's first Celebration appearance, so it seemed somewhat justifiable. Anyway, I've still got to get that Walk's piece framed an on the wall...

Oh yeah, Mark Hamill IS expensive!! I still remember his sexually suggestive autograph to me. :lol:lol:lol

What! Explain... :horror

Got my offer back from the AFA seller. 20% off either or both of the droids I'm looking for. I really only should get one, so I think I'm going to spring for the DS droid...

He wrote that he was "Forcefully" mine. :horror:horror

Gibby had a good laugh at that one. :lol

I've never gotten anybody's autograph. I came close to getting Felicia Day's at C2E2, but decided against it.

DO IT! (the Emperor says)

It's not my favorite thing to do at a convention. Because, like UT, I'm kinda shy. But most of my experiences have been fun. I'm sort of over it. I've got my "big two" and know I'll never get near Harrison, so I'm all good. Plus, the lines! Great googely mogely! Ask Waller about the time investment...

Wow, Hammill is that much? I'll cross him off my list then. The only actor I'd pay at least that much for is Harrison Ford. I want to meet Frank Oz too, I wish he'd do shows. I really need his signature on my Dark Crystal poster.

ok, I have to ask... Who the hell is she? I hear her name all the time and she's featured at all the big cons but I have no idea who she is.

I like getting autos and meeting stars too but am also painfully shy. I get really star struck and have even been speechless before.

I'll get Ford's auto one day. I may never meet him but it's my ultimate grail to get a signed Indy item.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I know you love Indy a lot, so also want you to meet Ford too someday Madcow!! My grail would have to be Steven Spielberg. I love so many of his movies if you guys didn't know. :lol

She was in some Whedon stuff and I think she was on a show on SyFy and is also a recurring character on Supernatural. I think she's popular with nerd people because of her involvement with that Dragon Age game and her youtube web series, The Guild.

I wanted to meet her because I think she's kind of cute and saw a video podcast where she recommended a book on writing that was really helpful to me.

You did go overboard though, and you went with a lot of big names too, and those take a huge investment of time. I only did two big names at CV, and let the numbers get ahead of mine, so I could time the line to about an hour at most. The experience can also be enhanced by the people around you in line. For the Carrie line, I was next to a Boush cosplayer, and she was the most delightful person. Other lines have not been as fun. So there's that...

She was awesome in Eureka.

Starting out is always the hardest because you don't know if an actor will be at future Celebrations. I could've gone with smaller characters, too, but that's even more time spent in line even if they are shorter.

At least if I get autographs at future Celebrations, there's only a few left that I'd want to get.
