I'd still put this above the prequels, but it's ranked last out of the OT and new movies. The things I disliked reminded me of some of the things I hated about the prequels.

Hamill was great though, really does make it a shame that he couldn't have had any scenes with Ford though. So many great scenes between those two in the OT.

Saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it. I worked hard to avoid spoilers! I stayed off these boards to because people were already posting sly little hints about the story in other non-movie threads. But the way it was becoming SO divisive so quickly, and all that talk about not giving away the big twist (which people seemed to hate), I was thinking they were going to

...have the movie ending with most everyone dying, but then Rey wakes up and that it was just a force vision! Or that everyone dies in the end but Rey finds a way to go back in time and undo the series of unfortunate events!

Thankfully none of that happened, but more because I wouldn’t have wanted to “know” how the movie went.

I was also expecting

The Knights of Ren to show up on Ach-To and attack Luke and Rey. Wasn’t there a scene in the trailers that had Rey running in the dusk on the island with her lightsaber on? Did they cut that out? I thought that the Knights would arrive and attack Luke while Rey was doing something else, and she would see what was happening and run to help. I thought Luke’s line “This is not going to go the way you think” was to the Knights, right before Luke unleashed a can of whoop ass on them!

My only complaint is that I feel like there wasn’t enough Rey!

I'll put this movie #4 on my SW movies list, just slightly below The Force Awakens, just because I think TFA has a little more "charm" to the characters.

Very much looking forward to Episode 9!

A few other comments/thoughts I had about the film:
I hated that Leia survived in space. That was too hokey to me...

I loved that Hux was going to shoot Kylo when he was unconscious on the floor.

I hated that once again, we barely saw R2.

Although no Han, I loved that Luke had a moment with Leia, Chewie, R2, and C3PO...

I really wanted to see the Knights of Ren, or at least find out when happened to the rest of them. I'm sure we'll see them in Episode 9. Now that Ren is in charge, he'll give his buddies a call on his cell, and invite them over for drinks and Resistance hunting...

I LOVED seeing puppet Yoda return!!!

I was sad that Obi-Wan did not return...

I was glad that Anakin did not return...

Why couldn't Lando have been in the casino??? I mean, cmon, talk about the perfect place for a cameo!!!

My only complaint is that I feel like there wasn’t enough Rey!
There isn't enough Rey in my bedroom, either! :lecture This film had much more Poe than the last one, but less of Finn and Rey. I mean, they had plenty of scenes, but they didn't accomplish as much as in the first film...

Well as annoying as those porgs were it seems they were the least of the movie's problem.......:lol

Oh and bs to the spoiler/Easter egg from rogue 1.......:pfft:

So I'm in a very similar boat to Waller; and we saw the movie together for his first two viewings :lol

After the first viewing I was totally bummed out, the movie just felt hollow and overly silly. There were moments that I really liked, but everything seemed wooden and poorly planned out. I spent the next day and a half bagging on the movie and lamenting. But Waller and I already had tickets for Saturday so we went and lo and behold I really enjoyed it the 2nd time. It's not perfect, but if I'm being honest it's as flawed/silly as any of the SW OT movies and a damn sight better than the PT.

I guess these aren't really spoilers since I didn't give anything away, so in the interest of making this tag legit: Chewbacca cooks up 2 porgs, but doesn't appear to eat them.

He's more cold than you expect... he just looked at that crying porg and said "**** you; I'm not even going to eat your parents. I'll just leave them on stakes to remind you of the loss and sadness you feel now."
