You must have never bought from me. I go overboard. I buy more than I sell, so I understand the importance of packing... Why is why I'm nervous about the boxed Ewok Village I just bought. I always send a message asking them to pack well to avoid potential damage in shipping. Dunno if that message does any good...

You won't have to worry with me. :wink1:

I just have to keep telling myself that it's all staged. The stuff he's "buying" is either already his or it's been pre-negotiated before the show is even taped. I know personally that this is how it's done on American Pickers and Comic Book Men. True collectors aren't stupid they know what things are worth. The fact that these shows portrays them as so is infuriating. That's why I watch to see cool stuff and that's it. I fast forward through the created reality.

Yeah, just in case people didn't realize this, "Reality" television is scripted. Even live events follow some sort of script (or planning).

the show would be horribly boring if we actually saw the hunting and searching through boxes. I do believe we see some parts of that in "reality," but all the "wait a minute." Discoveries right befor the commercial breaks are plants. I don't doubt they are from the person's actual collection & the premise is that Jordan is invited over to buy this item, but they have some "fun" in the process.

If its so infuriating, then don't watch, lol. especially if you know its a set-up. :) Life's too short to let television shows piss us off...

Last episode of TH had me livid when he bought a carded set of Temple of Doom figures for $125 and said that he was going to ask $200. One figure alone goes for $125 and if I could find a carded set if 3 for $200 I wouldn't think twice about buying them. But of course, none of that is realistic.

I was taken aback by that as well. I have that sset of 3 loose & recall seeing some recent prces twice what he claims he can sell them for.

I think my biggest diasppointment with the show is that among the stuff in the background of Jordan's interview shot are those new "Shampoo Bottle" 12" Anakin & Clone Trooper 12" figures. lol

What did you get, Chien? They had the Batmobile around here for 35 the other day... Made me wish I didn't have it already. :lol

The Monsters Fighters were clearance. Got the Werewolf for $10 and Hearse for $25

Why do Ebay sellers not have a clue about packing items properly?

I think it has a lot to do with them being after the quick buck and either not a collector themself or interested in continuing to provide items for collectors.

I can't imagine a seller, who isn't a collector, not wanting to protect their reputation when it comes to future sales.

In the early days of POTF2, someone sold me a HTF at the time C-3PO. I probably paid double retail + shipping and they dropped it in an oversized USPS box with NOTHING ELSE.

All the corners were mangled when I took it out of the box. VERY disappointed.

I go overboard myself, I pack an item as I would like to receive it. But that's just me....
