i am the exact opposite, to me console is mostly for when friends come over as a social thing and play some super marior/racing games with it. I use my ps3 as a bluray player almost 90% of the time.

Games like civilization, baldur's gate, dragon age, skyrim etc.. you just cant play them seriously on the console ports..i can only get into it playing them on the pc. Same goes for modern warfare (i know many will disagree), but god damn i rather chew my fingers off than trying to aim with a thumb controller...

imo it depend what game, games like uncharted or gow, are easy to get into because they are exclusives, which was the main reason i bought one of each, for the exclusives on pc and both consoles, but i do have to admit you cant get any decent mmos on console

I can never understand how ppl can play a FPS with the thumb stick...

I thought the same thing before my computer died a few years ago, but i did get used to using a controller over time. I realize a controller will never be as accurate as the mouse and keyboard setup but there is something to be said about playing a game where everyone is using a controller. Not everyone is a dead-eye .

Anyway I'm glad to be back in PC land again.

wouldnt it depend on what your brought up on ? the first console i got was a nin 64 thus i am more experienced using joy sticks rather than a mouse

Consoles aren't going anyplace anytime soon and won't be replaced as the top dog anytime soon. Its great people prefer PC gaming but its not for me I much rather play on my 360 or PS3. For all of those that feel the other that's totally great for you.

What I see happening is that video games will be offered as a service, so stuff like Onlive or something like that. You might pay for the video games service like you do your TV and internet. In which case consoles would be dead and essentially all games would be PC. It could happen as soon as this next generation is done.

I will have the rest of my new pc parts in 2 weeks.

so far got motherboard and cpu

I am getting this amazing case

ofcourse more BF3 online on ultra settings

getting GTX 580

pumped

Lol. That case is obscene and unnecessary. I got one for a third of the price. It's a mid tower case that has more than enough room for everything including the biggest GPUs.

Can't they do the same thing for consoles?

Very nice box, bit big for simple setup, seems like it's more geared toward LAN work. But, you have some serious room for a heap of front panel drives & HDD's.

Great case if you are eventually gonna get into over clocking & water cooling.

Good choice for the GPU, the 580 is a very solid card, will be good for a few years. :hi5:

Josh! Dont tell me you never played lord of the ring online (only on pc), and you call yourself a lotr fan.... tsk tsk! :D

If they really really wanted to, but it would be a waste of money.

Using PC's it would be easier to upgrade over time without having to replace every single console, and it would be easier for the developers to only work with one platform. Plus they wouldn't have to worry so much about hardware capabilities.

Ok so my girlfriend and I are looking to get new computers to game on. We both want to build our own but are kind of new to it. We don't want to just go out and buy everything we need for a PC without knowing what is what and what is compatible with each other.

Is there and online resource that helps newbies build PC's or at least learn about it?

Search on Youtube: 'Newegg how to build a computer' There is a three part series on selecting components, building the PC, and installing the OS.
