This is an easy pass for me. Honestly, I didn't play the game but this figure looks like a regular 501st Div Trooper who had a horribly wrong paint job done on him.

My wallet will be smiling. :)

I'm in. I love this helmet design over the early clone helmets anyday.

well this is quite a surprise and a welcome one i loved the game and so far 2nd quarter is pretty empty for me just vader and possibly the cobra commander so i may pick this up depending on the price

I've just started the game, but I already think the story, dialogue and characters in the cut scenes are more interesting than the recent Clone Wars movie.

I have no problem with this figure as a game design, just that they had to reach into the EU for a quicky repaint. Where's the Sandtrooper if we have to have a repurposing of parts so soon?

I've still got an extra Marmit sandtrooper pauldron, helmet, and backpack. All I need is another trooper :naughty

Of course, I'd have the minor inaccuracies that route (kneepad on shin and abdomen section incorrect) but liveable.

I'd much prefer that SS release a Sandtrooper or Scout Trooper or Snow Trooper instead of this...

I will not pay for this figure with cash but if it becomes available on 2nd chance, then I may pick it up using my SS Rewards Points.

That or Sideshow might just possibly be throwing a bone to the fans of the game. Remember the Simon Pegg interview? Klauder loves the game too as do, I'm sure, other SS employees, so inspiration might have also been internal. I can see this piece testing the waters for future TFU releases. It's relatively inexpensive to design as it's basically a repaint and it fits perfectly with characters from that game. If people snatch it up, there's potential for future releases from the game.

Actually, I didn't bother with the Simon Pegg interview, but I'm not surprised that SK is a fan of the game. That does put a new light on things, but not enough for me to change my analysis. No, this is definitely a Lucas thing. Although perhaps Sideshow didn't put up much of a fight ... :lol

You're right about the cheap switch, though. One quick paintjob, and BAM! Instant cash cow. If Lucasfilm were going to say to Sideshow, "Do a Force Unleashed character," this would be the smartest choice by far in terms of testing the waters.

Easy pass

I think it looks pretty good. It makes perfect sense that as many variants as possible will be produced from the basic Stormtrooper and I'm looking forward to more versions from SW with different equipment as well as figures that have some differing armor and helmets from the basic figure like Sandtroopers. But I'm also one of those who won't be picking it up. I doubt I ever would have gotten a game figure from the SW EU anyway, but I've really narrowed down collecting to the original film, not the original trilogy, but Star Wars, for my figure collecting. It's taken substantial pressure off my collecting budget and it's the movie that really means something to me.

Its actually relieving to see something I have no interest in. For once I can say I hope the SW line slows down a tad.

I am passing on this, but I don't want the line to slow down. The last SW figures I pre-ordered were Vader and the Stormtrooper back in July. We won't see these figures for another 6+ months anyway.

One thing not yet uttered here, so I'll go ahead:

KOTOR >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> TFU.

So, if they insist on making figures based on characters from EU games...

I'm shocked it took this long for someone to point this out.

KOTOR figures would require new sculpts, R&D and production costs. This is pure profit, once you add the new paint.

I think the response did be a lot more positive if its repaints of Clone Troopers appearing in the movies.

I would be more posyive of we got a clone repaint, if it was a blue 501st clone i would be all over it.

For some reason i was expecting Cody to be the next armoured figure to go along with ROTS Obi-wan, CloneObi and the orange clone troopers.
