Maybe I should just turn over commissioner duties to you. You're thinking about this a lot deeper than I am.

imo I think we should keep it simple. Maybe add a thing or two this year to keep it fresh, but I'm just afraid if we swing the pendulum of settings from novice to extreme expert then we may end up losing people or unable to attract new people. People of course have lives and I'm not sure if they have the time or dedication to get too involved in a simple and free friends league.
You all can always put a poll up too, see what the players want.
That's just my opinion, I'm down for whatever

That's what it was started as, just a good simple fun league where everyone could play without too much dedication. Some of the new ideas are fine. No divisions is ok. Adding playoff teams is ok I guess although I'm not sure half the league making the playoffs is great (I'd rather have 16 teams if we are going to allow 6 to make the playoffs) but I can live with it. And about the roster / drafts if players are stuck with lousy QB's or RB's or whatever then too bad. We can't have an all pro roster on each team. Half the fun (for me at least) is being able to find those "nobody's" off the waver wire who step up and become great.
I of course will go along with the group in any changes people want to make. I do want this to be as much fun for everyone as possible. I know not everyone will be happy with every change but as long as everyone can live with them it should be another fun season.
And Meat I just noticed you mentioning the pot for the other league. I will pass on that one. I don't play in money leagues. To me it takes away the fun and makes it way too serious (especially if its for $1000.) I just want to talk trash and have fun and not get pissed when I lose by 1 point because it cost me a ton of cash.

I understand wanting to add some of the more intricate stuff to the league and if everyone wants it that’s cool with me. I wanted to make sure the first season was easy since we had a lot of rookies but if they feel a little more “seasoned” this year then let’s kick it up a notch. I have played in leagues with 8 teams and in leagues with 20 teams and with just about every scoring system and roster lineup around so I don’t really care what we end up with I just want to make sure everyone (or at least the vast majority) are happy with what we decide. But, if it came down to it I would rather keep it simple and keep everyone than have people leave because they think it’s too much time or too difficult to understand. To quote Bull Durham… “Lets have some fun out there. This game is fun, ok. Fun goddamnit.”
Ok, I see what you are saying about the keeper leagues now. I never thought of that since I would always stay interested but I guess I can see people dropping out if they don’t really have anything to lose.
