well physical media is dying, Fox is not even going to release any more Simpsons seasons on DVD or blu ray and just have everything digital... how crazy is that? a company that wont have their show on physical format because people are downloading so much. some bands are not releasing cds anymore but just everything online.
sometimes it feels like even buying used movies is a waste.
I guess i buy them just in case, just to have a copy that i can play whenever i want. but buying used is just cheaper. i dont know.

We all might transfer to digital sooner or later but if we do, at least i didnt lose hundreds of dollars :dunno

Re: Freaktacular 2015

makes sense, it's crazy to think that FOX is going that route. I've always been a fan of physical copies of games, movies and music. (no longer music, I've switched to all digital, plus I'm a hip hop head and that genre is strictly digital now it seems).

thats what i mean. a lot of bands are only making very small limited runs of cds now because it is cheaper to sell digitally.

Even Apple's new Mac book pro doesnt even have a cd drive, you cant even put your cds or movies in it.... they are trying to push the "no dc drive computers" now.

seems like disks are on the way out in general. Blu ray never really took off the same way dvd did when it was first introduced. they sell but i remember reading a report that some companies were losing money releasing smaller movies on disk. it wasnt worth the time and money to make them. the report was also talking about how blu ray was on the decline already.
I hate the idea of all your movies being on your computer or being on a cloud service because what happens if you have no internet. Also the company that owns the movie could decide to delete from your account

That happened with Amazon and their book service. people's copy of 1984 on Kindle was erased because the company had a problem or something. you pay for a book or a movie or a music CD and they can just come and erase it? .... wtf

Re: Freaktacular 2015

yeah I heard about that kindle thing, that's complete ********, that's why it's always nice to have a physical copy. even if it's easier to obtain a digital copy or what have you. it feels like you're renting something, it doesn't have that same "feel" I guess? :dunno

Re: Freaktacular 2015

Just remembered one of my favorite scenes from Monster Squad... SPOILER ALERT!!!

Towards the end, they had the blonde teenage girl read a spell because she's a virgin.
The spell didn't work after she read it because... surprise!... she's not a virgin after all! :lol

So what does the Monster Squad do?

They make a 5-year old girl read it. :rotfl FTW! This movie rocks! :rock
