Super Freak
I will be calling Fred to put down my deposit in an hour or so. Looking forward to speaking to him. This bust is probably the best i've ever seen.
Deposit placed. Spoke his very nice assistant who took my details. Very friendly.
I heard that NECA might do a 7" version of their Robocop, and possibly an ED-209 to accompany him.
Awesome. Thanks. I was hoping so as it was already black in the proto pics.
getting mixed reviews on the open mouth, but dammit, i wanted him to look like he was saying something... also, he looks sexier with his lips parted and i wanted the ladies to have something to look at!
the idea was always to go with robo 1. the color sceme is very similar to what was done for the first film, which is darker than all the other incarnations.
One thing I forgot to mention about the general look of the bust and everything I’m doing on all things Robocop, I’ve been working in very close collaboration with Fred Barton for the last few years on this project. What began as my own personal project, has ballooned incredibly since I contacted him and suggested we team up for his Robocop project. He has been instrumental and so unbelievably supportive of all my retooling work on his licensed Robocop projects and my various related sculpts. MGM actually went to him to revitalize the Robocop collectibles market. Honestly, only Fred could have obtained so many vintage parts from studio sources and actually find lost original stone molds. He had parts in his personal collection for a Robocop suit that we’re not seen in years that were so amazing and paramount in our getting the look and feel of the 1:1 bust and suit beyond what you have ever seen on the big screen. I'm glad that we became involved with the RoboCop statue project in Detroit, however, I’d like to clear up some misinformation. There will not be a 'new' sculpt for the bronze. The licensed 1:1 statue will be scaled up by scanning and resizing. Just know that anything I do that’s Robo-related, there’s also a lot of Fred’s oil, sweat and tears in it as well. He has the last word on the look and has his hand in and on each and every unit. That’s great QC if you ask me. He is always so spot-on with this stuff and we both share the same vision for Murphy… Just look at his past work (www.the-robotman.com) He really is, the Robotman. He’s a good friend as well, and a pain in the ass stickler for detail and authenticity like me. We plan to collaborate on many more projects together if this one doesn't kill me first.
