its was cool how they hung him, kinda showed a little wink to part 3. what really had me scratching my head was, why the hell would he carry jason's body to the lake instead of just pushing him threw the wood chipper? not that i wanted that to happen but still lol, but i love this jason the best and if they do make any other new films he should be the set jason for a while

i also have the 19" jason from neca im surprised they didnt add the sound like they did with the other it pisses me off, well dont really know for sure cause its still in the box, but the box doesnt say anything about sound so im assuming, i really wanted that chi, chi,ha,ha sound it would be great

F'N AMAZING!!!! :rock :rock :rock

Great atmosphere, creative kills, brutal and believable (and therefor, scary) killer, and STUPENDOUS TITS!!! Also, for the first time in ages I actually felt something when a character was killed. Also, this movie did what Freddy vs. Jason could not - make Jason sympathetic without wussing him down. This movie had it all...

...except music. :monkey4 What were they thinking? Whoever thought electronic beats fit in a rural hillbilly setting needs to be locked in a shed with Jason.

Lots of good humor without becoming a parody of itself. *LOVED* the Blue Velvet reference! :rock

Kane Hodder - I love you, but there is a new Sheriff in town! Derek Mears was born for this role. Give me more!

It depresses me to know that a decent (official) 12" Jason figure will not be produced. :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

Oh by the way did anyone else get a "Wooderson" from Dazed and Confused vibe from the Nolan character? :lol That guy was hilarious, he even had a similar hair style. :D

I am taking the wife to go see this tommorrow! My second time. :chew

Watched earlier today with the wife and we both loved it. It has it's flaws but as a Friday movie it delivered what I expected and as a re imagining I think it is a great start to breathing new life in this franchise.

I also was surprised that Jenna got killed I did not see that one coming.

As did I Kain, that was the biggest shocker of the film.

As for dumping him in the lake I felt it was a nice wink to part 7 with the chains around his neck. If only there was a rock attached and Clay and Whitney Miller were actually named Tommy and Trish Jarvis. :lol

Then we would have had all the greatest hits from the original franchise.

The ending felt like it was a dream sequence to me. I mean, who in their right mind would actually go through the trouble to put him in the lake? I would have been GONE, and never look back.

It seems like a dream sequence kind of scene, but it doesn't really let you know if it is..

It wasnt. The kids were idiots. Perhaps they thought he might not get back up if they drop him in the lake....

They were ALMOST smart....but...

:lol Well, it's never really stated... just fades to daylight... Reminds me a bit of the ending of Part II, you really have to decide for yourself if it really happened that way or if it was just imagined. That's kind of cool to me, fits the Friday tradition.

Don't give it too much thought, it was one of those dream sequencey things that was popular in the 90s reinvention of the "slasher" flick. Scream had them and the most famous is the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" one where she is showering and the guy leaps through the mirror. I guarantee you if a sequel is greenlit it'll completely ignore that whole sequence or chalk it up to a dream like the other flicks did.

"I would have been GONE, and never look back."

I would have been GONE way before that, like when he saw Jason carrying the dead body and instead of getting the hell out of dodge, he asked where he was going with the body and followed him.

But then again, if he would've left and called the FBI and told them what he had just witnessed and the location of the incident and then also advised the FBI that the local police were very stupid for not finding that location while pot heads could.

Then again, if real life logic would've been followed, there would be no movie.

We're lucky we live in this day and age of mass instant communication because in the dark ages before the invent of cell phones gps pda and internet, it was rather easy to get slaughtered in the woods somewhere not to far from civilization and extremely easy in the real deep woods completely removed from society.

What I mean by easy is not the actual murder, heck anyone today can walk up to someone in the middle of the biggest city in the world and shoot or stab them, what I'm referring to is that for a Jason or family of Jasons to exist back then was much easier then it is today. where the spread of information regarding the murder, motivation, whereabouts and rumor control (aka ghost stories back then) are all pretty much instantaneous on Youtube and CNN.

That's why F13 part 1 in 1980 was actually pretty scary because YES, back then you could go to a camp just an hour or two outside of Jersey's main cities and walk into an unknown danger that maybe only locals would know or dare to speak about.

Now, forget it.

Well, yes it can still happen, we can still find dangerous corners of our world hidden in the dark but not as much or as easy as it was back then.

They tried to incorporate and address that into the movie with the handheld GPS and mention of the NAV system in the SUV and how the local police couldn't find any evidence (they obviously didn't look to hard) and for the most part they succeeded in making us believe that a Jason was still possible today isolated in some part of an abandoned camp ready to massacre whomever stepped foot into his domain where not even real estate developers treaded!

Today, all the mines in my county are all mapped and can easily be accessed on my laptop or pda. Back then, maybe at the local library or town hall at best!

Heck, look at Son of Sam back in the late seventies, even in a major city the fear back then on the streets was immense, forget about going out on Halloween because he was in every corner and then when the rumors spread to the woods of the tranquil suburbs, it was major panic! I know, I was there as a kid.

Today, that would be handled very differently by the public.

Remember, I'm not talking about a jogger going out in Central Park and getting murdered by some rapist or robber. I'm referring to a hidden mass murderer like a Jason or Leather face type scenario.

Indeed it's very nice to be out of the communication dark ages!

Going to see the movie again today, reminds me when I was much younger working on Cannibal Campout out in the deep woods of Connecticut and being excited that another F13 was being released, hence my motivation for participating in CC, where saturdays campers become sundays brunch!

Thanks J.

saw the movie last night and think its a great movie, enjoyed it alot and think they pulled it off really well. Jason looks like a badass behemoth.

I wish they played the music more... I also think Jason should/ could have been more Vicious... like a Pit Bull.

Over all I liked it though... but could have been a lot better. TCM remake was better.

v. interesting observations. I wasn't bothering to think about how many references and 'smart' moves they used. The dependence on GPS and modern technology actually feels like something put in the movie to chew over for some of the older more thoughtful fans. On that note, I completely missed all of the movie references (die hard, jaws, blue velvet, etc.) in the midst of the murderous glee. All in all it was actually a pretty intelligent remake. Asian guy was really annoying sometimes but talking to himself in the garage he kind of made some apt points about class and wealth. This rings true in that jason is a working-class killer no doubt. Probably some of the more intelligent dialogue in the entire series.
