"You're tits are stupendous." Movie was worth it for this line alone.

I also enjoyed the rest of it thoroughly. Jason was very crafty in this one.

This movie ROCKED! I really loved it, didn't disappoint in the slightest. They finally made Jason scary again, and crafty as well... more so than any other film has portrayed him. I really loved the sleeping bag kill, and the bit on the lake. It was everything I could have hoped for and then some. :rock

You gotta love the pan of the archery trophies in Jason's "home" to tie that part up nicely.
yup...my GF didn't even notice that. i chuckled...it makes sense. he'd have to be good to hunt for food.
i think the opening sequence was fricking brilliant. hanging the girl over the campfire was awesome!!! i remember hearing some girl in the row behind us "OMG that's the F'in opening to the movie??"

Jason is the #1 killer ever.

Myers who? :lol

I was looking at Robbie's H2...and I just thought...meh. Cant top the J-Man.

Seriously good stuff. Great kills, I enjoyed the characters, and wanted some of them to live.

That guy had plenty of lines. He yelled "Where are you gun?!?!" in a tone that seemed as if he was waiting for a response and this line almost had me pissing my pants. When he looks up at that great piece as says:

"You have perfect nipple placement". :lol

Yeah, Mike... that guy had some pretty damn hilarious lines.. I loved that gun bit and also the high pitched scream was PRICELESS. :lol

*Some Spoilers below* ;)

I really loved this movie. I mean, it's a Friday film... not high art. So I wasn't expecting something as great as the original Halloween or the Exorcist... I knew what I was in for.

As a Friday film, it was the best since part 4 to me. Jason was brutal and had a pretty smart system in place to keep people out of his domain. The traps, the tunnels... I loved that. In the older movies, Jason just chased you down or walked slowly and somehow ended up in front of you instead of behind you. In this movie it was more plausible that he could move swiftly and sneak up on his victims.

I did think it was pretty hilarious when the kid died finding the weed, I turned to my Wife and said..."That's what they get for trying to steal Jason's bud."

And later when the redneck guy got killed, he took the weed... and died for it.. which I thought was pretty damn funny. It was an odd coincidence, but added to the enjoyment for me..

The teens were much more interesting characters than most of the older films ever had, except for Part I, II and IV... It felt more like these exceptions, in that you actually thought some of these people were pretty entertaining or cool and didn't want them to die. Some you did, but that's usually the way it works.. I just like that there were actual characters again, instead of cardboard cutouts.

And Derek Mears... Man o man.. did he ever KILL as Jason. He really owned the role, he brought intensity and psychology to a character that some would have just copied older actors and stuntmen and been done with it. The scene that really sold it for me was when he kills the slutty chick, that zoom in on his eye with that crazed look... BADASS.

All in all, I was very pleased with the film... The crowd I saw it with seemed to love it as well. I am already excited to see it again with my free ticket next week and I am very interested to see if they continue the series and give Derek another chance to thrill me.

Lol. That line got such a big laugh from the audience and I think after that scene I'm in love with Julianna Guill.

Anyways saw it again last night with a date which was fun as she was scared ^^^^^less through the entire movie. Can't wait for the Unrated DVD to come out!

This movie was way better than I expected. I could actually see it a second time! And there were a lot of awesome lines! I really liked the dude's high pitch girly scream. Too funny!!!

Producers have already said that the DVD will have 2 very different cuts of the movie, the theatrical and an entire different version, not just more gore...interesting.

My fav Jason part was when he ran, aimed and threw that axe like he was a bull on steroids! Intense!

Loved the Man Scream, funny ^^^^. His death could've had some more oomph though...

That was the problem for me....most of the deaths could've used a tad more viciousness, only a few were outstanding like the arrow, under dock and machete to head.

The burning of the sleeping bag was lame, not gory and only a tad bit disturbing and ran out of steam too quick as in the makers of the movie WIMPED out. Hell, My Bloody Valentine original had a better burned body, lost opportunity

Good Jason though, keep em.

I made these posts on another forum expressing my gross disappointment:

Okay, just got back.

I agree. I'd give it a D or less. There were about 10 minutes of the movie I liked. The rest upset and embarrassed me for being so excited in the first place.

The "jokes" were terrible. So much that I just felt stupid sitting there watching it.

I get it, weed is soooooo cool! Now get on with the ^^^^ing movie.

Every actor looked like a walking stereotype or like they belonged on an Abercrombie shopping bag--to the point that it took away from my enjoyment of the movie.

Even the nudity was stupid and out of place. Most of the horror masters know you do it for one scene... two tops. There was so much in it that it rendered all of it as stock nudity that is not memorable. I REMEMBER the nudity scene in Part Two. This? A mess.

Oh, and every time they did something to make Jason cool to me, they'd strip it from him by having him do something stupid and out of character in the very next scene.

Oh, and NO CAMP COUNSELORS.

MEGA FAIL.

----------------

Yes sir. The mask was another thing I had a big problem with. If you're gonna have an origin of the mask, then do it right. Otherwise, don't waste our time.

And time was of the essence. They tried to shove at least three movies worth of material into an hour and a half. I kept saying the whole movie felt like a commercial... just bits and clips of stuff they thought would sell linked together with titty scenes.

The opening only works if you know what happened, really. I sat in the theater wondering if any of the teeny boppers who were screaming like this was the second coming of Brittany Spears had any idea what was even going on in the beginning. And the end, for that matter. Again, if you're going to do an homage... do it right or don't bother doing it at all. The whole movie was way too rushed.

Revamped my review after letting the movie sink in and combining my feelings with some of the other good comments posted on here.

It was good but it could've been much much more!

Break it down Joe:

Kills/Gore:
Some of the kills can be added to the pantheon of the best kills of the series while others were crappy or done off screen (like wtf). I have to tell ya, Punisher Warzone wasn't too far behind with the Kill/Gore factor and even had some better ones than what was on display in the F13 remake. The burning of the sleeping bag was lame, not gory and only a tad bit disturbing and ran out of steam too quick as in the makers of the movie WIMPED out. Hell, My Bloody Valentine original had a better burned body, LOST opportunity! My favorite 3 kills were Arrow to head, Girl under dock and Machete to head with guy in bear trap. The spoiled rich guy died good but his character needed more oomph as did most of the kills. It was rather creepy with the old man in the car waving him in.

Scares:
Scary has creeped its way back into a Friday movie which is no small feat when one begins to really think about it. But it begins to suffer from showing Jason TOO much and losing some of that fear. Strangers it isn't, now that movie was scary, at least for me. Still, it's nice that a F13 touched on some of that fear, it's been a very long time that one of these have really been "scary", if any at all other than maybe Part 1. I'll go out on the limb and say that this is THE scariest F13. It would definately scare the crap out of of my wife but i'm more numb to the whole Jason-Freddy-Myers thing. Show them too much and forget it, i'm bored, not scared.

Sex:
Decent but not awesome like some are reporting. Could always use more but what was there wasn't half bad.

Story:
So so....but for a slasher flick, I guess not so bad. By the end I was definately beginning to lose interest....and I did. Good beginning and middle and then it all deflated for me. Still, what was on display wasn't so bad.

Action (meaning boring or not boring):
Not bad, enough there to keep you awake. It does get tedious though and I began to lose interest in the action (boooo).

Humor:
The man scream was awesome and will go down as a classic among all the movies. The rest were kind of annoying but some of the lines were funny.

Jason:
He's a good one, faster as was expected and rather intimidating and dare I say, scary. BUT, too much of a good thing can only lead to it becoming boring and losing its scare (booo again). The genesis of the mask.......meh....Still, my fav Jason part was when he ran, aimed and threw that axe like he was a bull on steroids! Intense!

Acting:
Better than I expected. You actually hate one of the leads because you're supposed to so he did a good job pulling that off. If i'm not mistaken he also played a prick jock in Transformers with the same character name (Trent), LOL! Good one Michael Bay.

Final Verdict out of these 4: (See It In The Theater And A Must Own On DVD / See It In The Theater But Will Not Own On DVD / Wait For It On DVD For Rental / Don't See It At All.

See It In The Theater Definately BUT it's hard to say at this point if this is worth owning (as in can it hold up to repeat viewings like Halloween 1, The Exorcist and Friday the 13th 1 original and Friday the 13th 4 for example). Almost a yes AND no, i'm on the fence right now leaning towards YES but barely. Man did some of those kills need improvement and why show him so freaking much!

Producers have already said that the DVD will have 2 very different cuts of the movie, the theatrical and an entire different version, not just more gore...interesting.

Was it better than Zombie's Halloween Remake and the TCM Remake?

YES! (Although Zombie's first half wasn't all that bad but F13 remake is better all around and don't get me started on the TMC Remake, hated it other than Jessica Biel of course).

The only way to go with quality was UP, not too hard to do after Jason Takes Manhattan and Jasox X.

It's been only 1 day now since I've seen it and I wanna see it again so damn bad!! I'd love to see it again. Nothing good is coming out until Watchmen,so if I take a trip to the movies again before Watchmen comes out I'm seeing this again :D

Yeah, I am definitely seeing it again. And while I missed the camp counselors, they could do the next one about someone trying to reopen the camp. This movie delivered for me, and my expectations were pretty damn high.

I know people are split on it, but that was to be expected. I'm sure the ratings board and the studio hacked it to death, like they do ALL Friday movies... So it will be interesting to see the other cut, I'm sure there are changes... like the sleeping bag bit. All in all, even today the thrill hasn't melted away... I loved this movie. :rock

Yeah, I saw it midnight at the first showing then went to sleep and when I woke up the first thing I thought was "oh my god,I ****ing love this movie!" and now today I have the same feeling. I can't shake the thrill off.

This movie delivered for me 100% I am so happy and satisfied with this movie. And that's a great feeling. They did an amazing job. I'm so glad that Marcus Nispel and Michael Bay did this movie.

Actually, that was the 80s and 90s when horror movies were cut to ^^^^ (shame really), violence alone today isn't touched almost at all but the MPAA still makes some really bizarre decisions based on Combo's of certain elements so who knows what really took place.

Nonetheless, here's hoping that the DVD takes the kills up a few notches just to please my need for Jason to exterminate without prejudice and in full view, none of this off screen or in the dark bull^^^^. Fast kills are ok, sometimes it spices things up.

Curious to what the "whole different version" will be like....hmm.

Believe me, i'm not trying to knock the movie, nothing in life is perfect and we pretty much lucked out with this movie.

Some of the scares began to fade into boredom for me...still, overall, well done.

I'm just being picky is what it comes down to it.
