Is there a plan to produce a Chewbacca figure in Premium Format OR 1/6 scale in the future? Or both?

Counter to our previous statements, the answer to both is yes – eventually. We’ve started some evaluation of Chewie for both formats, and we’re going to figure something out. At this point, the PF would likely feature sculpted fur, but for the 1:6 scale, we’re pretty committed to figuring out a fur solve… eventually.

Cool. I wonder what they've tried for the 1:6 fur so far. What Mattman ( I think that's his ebay handle) uses is the best stuff I've seen so far.

Well, at least he's now being considered as an option....eventually.

I still think a furred suit over a body is the best option. Now that SS is going the extra mile with these crazy aliens Chewbacca seems like a very doable thing.

I would guess that, based on that comment, the exploration of fur for the 1/6 is more relative to articulation than aesthetics, so for a PF, go sculpted because it's a much easier way to replciate his signature fur.

My concern is, even if they can figure it out for a prototype, what's the factory going to produce, it'd be an epic ____ storm if they made a nice fur proto and the factory piece came out like a Hasbro fur Chewie.

I know that Sideshow can make a fantastic furry Chewbacca.

The real challenge is in making 2000 furry Chewbaccas.

Excellent news - Chewie's at the top of my most wanted list.

I'm thinking they'll take a cue from Hot Toys' Planet of the Apes figures. The fur worked out pretty well for those and I could easily see it used for Chewbacca.

I'm not really collecting the SW figures from Sideshow but even this has me interested, even as a purchase, if it's done right.
