I think the Apes look too clean for Chewie.

If they can find a fur that has that shaggy, curly look of Chewie's as is and not requiring tweaks to get it that way, I think it'd be doable in mass production, but if it takes the factory workers manipulating the hair in some way to get that look, I can see there being problems.

It seems anything SW works fine for SSC now, so remember they can use the fur technology on all the other wookies from ROTS and for Ewoks.

I hope which ever technique Sideshow use to stick fur on Chewie works for Ewoks too, not forgetting Ewoks have much shorter fur.

Looking forward to seeing how SS go with Chewie, no doubt they'll be trying out various materials and methods to see which works the best.

As others have said the hardest bit will be getting them looking as good mass produced.

It'll be one of the hardest figures for them to produce I'd say, plus he's super iconic so he'll have to be super good.

Looking forward to hearing more about SS's progress.

I like the diversity of material used in the SW 1/6 line. Besides plastic and cloth, if I recall correctly we have got vinyl(Jabba), glass(Jabba's glass), pewter(Chess set), Polystone and leather. Now we are getting fur.:)

As we haven't gotten droids, are only now getting armored figures (even then Vader came out too large with a slightly off helmet), that a great looking mass produced all-furred figure has not been made yet and SS has not shown a lot of 1/6 innovation in recent years, I don't have tons of confidence. I certainly hope it comes out beautifully (and quickly) but I'm not holding my breath.

At last ....we will see Chewie, great news , I imagine that will be a great challenge for the team of SSC to create these figures, good luck boys and give us two wonderful pieces .

Really bummed to read 'sculpted fur' for the PF of Chewie. That makes it more like a maquette doesn't it? I would think if any Chewie SCREAMS for the fur treatment, it's the PF...That's what makes it 'Premium' IMO.

Guess I'll have to wait and see, but I was really, really looking forward to a 24" tall super-detailed furry Chewie in PF...

I am completely OK with the fur on the 1:6 scale figure not being wavey/curly/kinky (or whatever you want to call it). I will be happy if it looks like a 1977 Hasbro figure as long as it has the "real" fur and awesome articulation!

Not if his satchel is in leather and the bowcaster in plastic.

This sounds great. I however jumped the gun quite some time back assuming it'd be a long time before seeing a Sideshow Chewbacca and went ahead and got the Gentle Giant one. It displays great along with the other 1:6 stuff

But I could totally dig on a furry Chewie provided it comes out of the factory the same way it's shown at a comic-con.

Hair is sculpted on all the SS Star Wars 1/6 figures, so this seems incongruous at best.

what I was going to post... you read my mind lol really!!! :D:horror

On the Premium Format too so sculpted Chewie PF!!! I can't wait!!!

I do have the GG Chewie displayed with my Sideshow figures too and it does look great!!! well I'm selling everything 12" gentle giant and attakus statues on ebay right now.
