I'll be done Classified once we get Flash, Monkeywrench, Crystal Ball, Snow Cat w Frostbite, Thunder Machine w Thrasher (and maybe Skystriker w Ace)... to go with the announced Blowtorch, Law and order, Footloose.... and then the pre-ordered Zandar, Leatherneck, Dial-tone. I don't think I need anymore after that and will have a complete collection for 82-87

I don’t think the new Pulse site it doing processing soon notices like the old version. Any of the new orders I’ve placed since the new site went live haven’t given me the warning. I still will get them from lingering orders from the old version though. Can’t say I’m a fan of that lack of notice and I’m betting they changed that on purpose to avoid cancellations.
Yeah I'm just going to have to get use to it, just not convenient for customers. It appears Walmart might be doing the same, my Falcon/Quarrel set is at "preparing" now.

I got Star Duster today, really nice figure! The knee joints are too stiff even after heating up, his neck joint won't allow him to look up for flying poses, and the plastic holding the accessories is a pain trying to free them without damage. But the figure looks great and the weapons are nice and stiff. I almost overlooked the perforated pop out cereal box on the cardboard insert backdrop. I love that they included it but, it's awfully cheap of them to just give us one. That backdrop piece is large enough to give us 10 cereal boxes and it would cost them nothing more, but we only get the one.

I love the left "holding" hand they gave to Duke/Duster but it just doesn't look right when griping a weapon foregrip, so I tried heating, shaping, and cooling the hand to improve the way the hand grips and it works great! I recommend doing the same.

Personally, I’m relieved I’m probably close to 80% complete with my Classified collection. There’s some heavy hitters still out there and some first time figures I’ll have to pick up. I know they’re gonna continue with the repaints, prepaints and updates to existing Classified figures. All of the major troop builders are complete for me, just waiting on the Iron Grenadiers. They’ll be other troop builders I’ll grab 1 or 2 if they’re cool.
I’ll never not collect Classified but I see it really slowing down for me in the next few years, not counting vehicles and HasLabs.
It’s, by far, my favorite collection as an adult collector.

Mostly agree, nearly done with it myself from a FIGURE standpoint. Only thing I wonder is what all will be in the HasLabs and what all will be offered as non-HasLab vehicle sets. Those for me are the only X-Factors.

Not interested in the Night Vipers? Personally Night Vipers are my second favorite Cobra trooper specialist.
I had just about every Joe figure up until '89, then only occasional after that until '91, but then it was just out of habit. There's still a ton more to go. I'll be far more choosy when it comes to Eco and Star brigade stuff. They'll have a monumental task ahead of them to turn goofy crap, cool.

My Quarrel/Falcon set shipped from Walmart without notice, it should be here by Monday.

1982-1986 is my jam sprinkled in with a few favorites from 87-90. Night Vipers can absolutely be the exception. I didn’t have Alley Vipers, Techno Vipers or Range Vipers as a kid, but picked up a few for Classified. Troop builders like BATs, Vipers, Crimson Guard and Snow Serpents, I’ll gladly buy a few more since they’re some of my favorites.

HasLab question:

I see with the recently announced Ghostbusters HasLab, they’ve gone the base model/deluxe model choice for backers like they did with the Star Wars TVC Mos Eisley Cantina.

Do you think that’s a possibility for the Classified team, or because they’ve been so insanely successful so far, it’s not really an option?

Be interesting what they do with Flash/Zap/Short Fuse from 82 lineup. Flash is distinctive. He has the red armor/checkered vest and gear. You could, in theory, cobble together some Zaps and Short Fuse guys out of Stalker V1 as a base. Just change the head and some of the gear. As a kid, I knew zero other people with a Short Fuse. I guess mortars were not popular. Or maybe kids just mostly couldn't conceive of how useful a mortar can be. Technically, I guess Zap and Short Fuse could come in a two pack, thus allowing a little more budget for a nice mortar set up.

I'm thinking Footloose and Mutt/Junkyard will be eventually repacked in blue to finish off the Marauders lineup. I'm curious for the demand for Airtight. He was in the original cartoon. But he's kind of odd. Though it was probably unclear if Tripwire would sell that well and it looks like he sold pretty good. I suppose it depends on how they update Airtight. I'd say Airtight might be my biggest guess for a candidate that gets unintentionally skipped for a very long time.

I really hope they don't try to go into Sky Patrol at this point. Because that means every release under that banner will end up being a deluxe because it needs a real parachute.

I could see them doing a deluxe option, sure. Maybe have multiples of the army builder figures for example? Or more swap outs like battle damage panels or blast effects?

And funny timing, Crystal Ball just got announced at NYCC! Seems mainline but they did name drop once a man Cobra Commander so he could still be an exclusive. Really curious to see how he turns out!

Looking over the new reveals:
Retro Rock 'N Roll
Retro Viper
Retro Dr. Mindbender
Footloose
Snake Eyes with Mass Device canister and a Polar Bear
A basic Firefighter (I guess GI Joe Anniversary figure)
And........ a Cobra Tool Shed with Ally Viper repaint? wtf?

Name only:
Darklon
Crystal Ball
Snake Eyes version 4

The hint at the Vehicle looks like either the Cobra Stun, or Joe AWE Striker.

Most Joe lines have introduced new things into the universe and so far Classified has done very little of that. We got the redesigned versions of the core characters pretty early on and just now are getting classic versions of them. Maybe in a few years they’ll put out some more redesigns to keep things fresh? But you’re right, eventually everything ends. Right now, it’s probably Hasbro’s best selling figure line and that will keep the execs backing it for a little while longer.

Something I've said before, at least with Shipwreck, was I hoped they did his 50th Anniversary design, from the 1/18th line. I mean, they still could. They could keep adding to the Tiger Force and Marauders, but once they get past characters that were actually in it in the previous toy lines, then it's uncertain.

I'll be honest, I'd rather see them dive into some of the Rise of Cobra / Pursuit of Cobra 1/18th designs scaled up into Classified scale, rather than them doing something like Battle Force 2000 or their drug dealer/DEA lineup. But to be fair, Lowlight and Snowjob in Classified really do look like port ups from some of those cooler 1/18th figures.

I'd like a Shock Trooper. One of my favorites from the 4 inch line. I suppose the wrinkle here is older ROC/POC stuff, had way more accessories, which added to the appeal, but with inflation and costs, we won't see the same robust level of accessories that rounded out some of those 4 inch figure so well. ( IIRC, one of the Snowjobs had a little stove and a fuel can, which would never get made at Classified level, stuff like that.)

Found some videos on the 1/18th Snowjob and Fast Draw.

What I like about this Snowjob is it has some elements that appeal to a quasi Adventure Team concept. But that stove, poncho, radio segment, etc, etc, would drive the price of a Classified set possibly too high, even for a Deluxe. But IMHO, the aesthetics here, like Fast Draw, just looks way more marketable than the 80s/early 90s RAH conceptions, well some of them.

Glass half full on the "2025 production delays" as it will give our wallets a little break.

Footloose reveal: I never had this one as a kid, but looks cool enough to pick one up.

Cobra Trench Viper and Bunker: YES! I think these will sell enough to warrant doing more mini playsets like the Watchtower and Bivowac. (Joe's are currently getting wrecked in the vehicles department). I might try and pick up 2, the full reveal will determine my choice.

60th Anniversary Firefighter: A cool pass, much like the other 60th figures.

MASS Device w/ Snake Eyes: I'd rather have that "other" polar bear if you get my drift. I'm not big on the cartoon look of GIJOEs, that's why I don't collect Super 7. It all depends on what the other MASS device sets will be, to get the container that is included.

Retro Rock 'N Roll: I'll pick one up to keep mint on card.

Retro Dr. Mindbender: I'll probably cave and order 1 on Tuesday to keep on card, because so many collectors missed out on the original.

Retro Cobra Viper: I might pre-order this one as well, as it's a fan favorite troop builder and HP will no doubt sell out in minutes.

Darklon name only reveal: Ya know, with Metal-Head, Iron Grenadier and Iron Grenadiers BATS, I hope IG Destro is revealed sooner rather than later and it's mandatory he comes with his Despoiler.

Crystal Ball name only reveal: Emily's comment that this looks radically different than the OG is very promising.

Snake Eyes V4 name only reveal: Surprising we're not getting V3 first, I'll have to see what this one looks like before I decide to get one.
