damn GB strikes again...........you should sell your own line of figures. im sure people would be very interested on your take of characters which is very unique and ultra cool as well. GB keeps rockin' the sculpy :D........:rock:rock:rock

Wow Joseph!! Well done brother!!! :rock :rock :rock You did crank that beast out rather quickly! Shows what a Kurgan kan do when he puts his mind to something...there's no stopping him! :rock

Can't wait to see what other projects you take on in the future GB!

that mumra looks great, keep up the good work. ive always wanted to try a lion-o but the clay i use doesn't work to well and kinda breaks easy (so sad for my sweeny figure).

Oh no, the hair on Sweeny broke? What do you use... both Magic Sculpt and Sculpey are pretty resistant to breakage. Magic Sculpt is a little trickier (for me) to work with... but since it doesn't require baking that can be good for some work.

And thanks everyone for your comments... I'm heating up some tea as we speak to get some weathering started on the robes :rock

think the stuff I used was Super Sculpty, the strands that I had sticking out mostly broke off. Main thing was I wasnt sure if I could put a Resin head (think thats what ada sells) into the stove to cook it, so I used a hair dryer. Either I didnt let it go long enough or something.

Are you gonna do mummra with the powered look, or just sticking with the corpses version.

Heads will usually hold up to baking... but with a custom one its probably safer to not risk it. I'd suggest buying some magic sculpt (1lb is about $15) which you can use like sculpy... but it will dry on its own after about 3-4hrs.

No plans for a powered up Mumm-Ra right now... but with time who knows :lol

Okay, small update... I got the robe weathered, but as I was posing him I snapped off his head?!? Fixed it, was trying to take another photo and he fell off my table and snapped his head off again. I think that means I need to stop for tonight :lol

And don't worry, he's easily fixable... but no need to tempt fate with a 3rd fall.

Oh, and besides weathering the robe, I also removed the wires from the bottom... they actually made it harder to pose than just leaving it w/o wires. But he still has a wire around the hood.

Cool stuff, very refreshing to see!

That Mumm-Ra is AMAZING! That made me smile!

Thanks LoveMinusZero and Die! And Die, I've been a fan of your crazy customs so I'm happy I was able to bring a smile to your face as well :rock

Well, got Mumm-Ra fixed-up and took some more shots. I'm gonna call this guy done for now.

I LOVE it man... Looks freakin great! You really captured the character perfectly. :rock

And I know how you feel about falling heads... Had that happen to me a MILLION times. My Two Face kept losing his and I have dropped the Batman head at least 3 times.. thankfully..no breakage. :lol

Yeah, the fact that he didn't break was cool... especially on the shelf dive. The trouble is since he's wrapped-up around the neck its hard to tell at what point you've gone to far in posing him...and then snap!

Thought I'd update with a project I'm almost done with... haven't tried a likeness in awhile, so I'm fairly happy, but I find it much harder to get a clean sculpt when it needs to look like an actor, but here's my attempt at Colin Clive as Dr Frankenstein.

I'm further along than the pictures show... but not done yet. The sculpt is an original made from super sculpey... the rest is from the Sideshow Young Frankenstein figure... his outfit (except for the pants that are too light) is very accurate to the original Frankenstein :rock

HOLY HELL!! Dude, you are killing me. I can't sculpt a likeness to save my skin, and you have been nailing these things. And a HUMAN likeness at that? Crazy... just crazy. :rock

I'm stunned bro, this looks like a stylized version of Colin Clive. Perfect. I LOVE it man. :bow

Good work GB.

I will give you my critique.

Looking at the profile's, left pic and right pic, the left pic shows his neck needs some culling under the chin, though it's much better than the profile on the right, which looks to taper off too rapidly. Other than the finer details, you are bounding ahead. No joke. Humans have to be the hardest to capture, because we know them so well. Just compare your caveman to Colin and the improvement is vast. Keep it up.

Thanks guys :duff

And I see what you mean Creech... hadn't noticed that before, its funny how you can see things in a picture easier than when its right in front of you :lol
