Might be the way to go GB. Do your sculpt. Take pics and check the look. Even from above and below. 360 final check.

i will say that faces are hard to sculpt. Left and right side have to be proportional, which is hard to master.

Great job G.

Hey J, can you take a pic of Mumm-Ra next to some other 1/6 figures. I just wondered how he looked next to production figures.

Yes, human heads are hard. My advice is to sculpt some skulls. Seriously. Make yourself study some anatomy and reproduce some in scale. Then when you get a skull like you like it, sculpt a face onto it. That will make you scale your details better than anything else. For now, you are trying to interpret so many layers of stuff, much less hone skills. You'll get the details, just focus on the anatomy first. There are many tricks to help you with it. You'll get it. Keep it up!

I'll try that Les, I actually patterned the Red Skull after images of a human skull... but then off course made alterations so make him look more like the character. But I've been wanting to try and make a realistic one as well.

Here ya go King, hope that helps... and he's as tall as a regular figure, I just pose him hunched over a bit.

Thanks Obsolete :rock

Well, got Dr Frankenstein completed today. I've altered the sculpt some since the first shots... tried to whittle down the nose a bit, got rid of a piece of hair and tried to clean him up in general. The clothes are all from the Young Frankenstein figure (weathered of course) and I died the pants to be more screen accurate. I'm pretty happy with how he came out, definitely a fun and challenging figure.

Awesome looking Dr. Frankenstein! You are coming up with some killer stuff, I can't wait to see what you do next. You definitely need a Lion-o to go with that Mumm-ra!

rock on, indeed:rock:chew!

Thanks Barryo and Die! :duff

I'm real pleased with him, and with each project I learn a bit more and have fun, which is what this hobby should be about :rock :rock

And a Lion-O would be real kickass... I'm really just not sure how I would outfit him... those costumes would be a pain to try and make, but maybe at some point I can get that figured out.

So, here's a few unused shots of the completed Monkian figure... you can see more in the challenge thread.
