Okay, here he is painted... I again went with more comic colors for him. Happy with him overall now I just gotta figure out how to outfit him.

Pictures make him look a little wonky-eyed... doesn't really look so in person. But I did have his eyes really bulged out compared to a normal person.

Great stuff GB. You're getting good enough to make molds of some of the better ones and make some coin.

My sister makes a bunch of jewelry with sculpey and fimo. Sells it for good money at shows. Helps pay for the classes she pays teaching her all the different techniques.

Thanks everybody... I'm scouring the internet for some clothing bits, I'll update when I get him outfitted :rock

I actually decided to cannablize the original Scarface figure... his 70's suit had the look I wanted. right now its drying after the dye job.

Well, I got him completed by stripping down a Scarface figure and dying the suit with Ritt. Actually came out pretty good and was about what I'd hoped for... although the suit could maybe be a shade darker, I decided to wait and see how I feel after a few days.

Nice! I can give you a tip on darkening that suit... Rit dye tends to go a bit light on white suits... I had the same problem with my Two Face, came out PINK! :google

So I did my Darkening technique that I have always used.. I watered down some black to a tea like state and brushed it in. On lighter clothes, it would have made them look dirty. On the suit, it darkened it. Now it is red. :rock

You should give it a try if you aren't satisfied later.

But dude, GREAT work! I'm so glad you are in this game now, your stuff has a style all it's own and I love it. :duff

So you put this all together in only 2 days? Nice! He sort of looks like he's ready to hit the clubs. :rock

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind... what was strange was the orange took really well, yet the purple (which was darker looking) came out lighter. Like I said, I was kind of leaning towards a lighter shade... but I may give it a darker go.

Yep, just about... started working later Thursday night, got him painted yesterday and dyed the suit today.

I picked up some firm sculpey earlier today, I notice that there are odd crevices and what-not on the sculpts after I start painting. I'm hoping with the gray color that won't be as much of an issue.

Hopefully I'll have some more stuff to post soon :rock

I picked up some black Sculpy to mix with the regular. It does help to see the detail a little more when you're working.

I'm still not ready to post anything.

Looking good! :rock
I'd love to see some darker clothing on him though. I've been messing around with RIT dye myself this weekend. This is looking much better than what I did.

Turns out if you use a lot more dye and less water you get a darker color :lol I just started to redye the suit and it is already closer to a plum color. I think it will look a lot better... I'll update in while once he's dried and redressed.

Okay, so redyed, dried and put back together. Definitely like him a lot more with the darker suit. although on the downside, the extra dying seems to have weakened the stitching on the jackets lapel... but not a huge issue.

A bit of a before and after...

Yep, I have some string... but its too thick. Need to go to the store tomorrow and get some thin ribbon. Gonna go for a bolo necktie, think that would look good on him.

I'm thinking black, any other suggestions on a good color?
