How did I know that this thread would eventually turn into someone b i t c hing about flippers.

Every thread becomes THIS eventually

:lecture:lecture It's usually the same few people who stir it up too.

I highly doubt any of this has to do with TAXES. if that were true, like jbinny said, garage sales would be illegal, and Ebay as a whole would be illegal. Even this forum is illegal.

Why should scalping be the only one to have to pay taxes on? Even if someone sold a statue for retail to another forum member, why wouldnt taxes have to apply to them either?

Your logic has holes, and we all see it but you.

Because taxes would be imposed upon PROFIT, and NOT upon the sale price of the item. No profit made =no taxes. If an item originally sold for $250 and is resold for $500, and the tax rate is 20%, then the tax would be $50.

Says who? Is this YOUR law? :banghead

Im done here before I piss Shell off. I'll leave that job to you. Knock yourself out.

Even though I ordered three, I am flipping none. Two for friends and the third is going to Bodie for cost. I am sure he will do all sorts of depraved things to it.

When a company makes something, they figure their costs and then declare a profit and then pay taxes on that profit, do they not?

Too bad I couldn't order my LSB even though I was there at 10 am. Sigh. If sideshow hadn't declared the ES ahead of time, it wouldn't have sold out so quick, and then more of the people who really wanted one for themselves could have had one.

i'll sell mine for $399, and many would think i'm flipping it, but by the time i recieve this piece and pay frieght, brokerage, duty, taxes and exchange rate.
i'd might be breaking even:(. so that would make me a flipper also i guess:D

I normally don't agree with anything you say, but I do agree that announcing the ES and further hyping the piece with that floating cloud on the SS site only increased the chance that flippers would get word and order this. I would rather this have been just a normal newsletter order and surprise us with the ES at that time.

You FLIPPER LOL. Join the whole family here hahaha.

Wow..$399? Actually..if you sold it on eBay..add another 15% of fees...so another $60 to break even...so you must sell it for $460 on eBay to break even :) I hope the Flippers realize that flipping is a losing business hahaha.

Might as well get it here for half the price :)

Phew... why did I think this'll end up being pinned on me? :D

C'mon kids... this is getting real boring. Let's talk about the Galactus LSB! has anyone mentioned it in the last ten pages?

I know, right:D

You take the good you take the bad ... and then you have the facts of

ok, now i haven't bother to go back the 20 or so pages to see if this has been posted yet, but i've not seen this pic yet to the bust.

the surfer does have his own little stand, now that is cool and this piece at $250 for the size of it and you get a miny surfer is a bargain imo.
name plate or not i'm getting this one.

this might be one of the few recently released items ssc had done, that won't make it to second chance.

Totally agree about the surfer... I took one look at the LSB then blinked again when I realized Silver Surfer wasn't the EX! SS really knocked this one out the ballpark.. I'm not an LSB fan at all but this for me is the best piece they've released this year. Even more valuable than X-23 imo

Got mine and cant wait to get it. To bad i dont have any other lsb to go with it but i really like this one so i will be keeping it.
