Hardware specs alone don't wow me. Plus, Android is pure junk... so, pass. I'll stick with my iPhone 5 for at least another year.

:lecture. Pretty much why I haven't jumped ship yet. My 5 wasn't as big of a jump as Apple projected it was, but it was much better than my 4 which is all I wanted.

The S4 looks cool, but the biggest turn-off that I have with it, is the huge screen-size that makes one-hand typing impossible. I have the impression that Samsung was trying to cross the features of a smartphone with the large screen of a tablet - but, it just looks and feels really awkward in hand. Personally, if I need a bigger screen to watch something like a movie, I'll use a tablet or a laptop - not a smartphone. My contract with T-Mobile expires next week, but I'll wait for news on the iPhone 6 in September before upgrading.

I've gotten used to using iOS on my iPad, and I can say that it's a significantly smoother interface than Android. The lack of Google chat is something that I do find annoying, though.

Unless you've got tiny hands a 5" screen isn't too big to type with one hand. Now if you had the Galaxy Note then that would be too big to type with one hand.

Well, my hands aren't tiny, but they're not humongous, either :lol. Regardless, the S4 is essentially a two-handed phone. Everyone that I've seen use an S4, has had used both of their hands for typing.

It seems like a good phone. But, the camera is actually seems slightly worse than both the S4 and iPhone 5 - at least according to CNET (granted, I take those reviews with a grain of salt):

It really depends on the lighting. Read Gizmondos and Endgadgets reviews. The galaxy seems like cheap plastic. I like the quality of the one. I'm going to go see them both today. I can't upgrade until Wednesday.

I don't have large hands and I can type on handed with the Galaxy Note. Granted I can type fast two handed though.

I like the big screen. Easier to read. I wouldn't want it any bigger though.

Yeah, I always hated the build quality on the Galaxy phones. I witnessed a person on my college campus last year drop a S3. Both the battery cover and battery came loose, and were sent flying off in different directions :monkey1.

I still find myself leaning toward the iPhone. I never owned one, but for the time that I've been using my iPad 3, I've been very impressed with the functionality and stability of iOS - compared to the "Froyo" and "Gingerbread" operating systems that I've been using on Android, that crash all the time. Android just sucks, and I'm saying that as a person who has been using Android since the first release of the Google G1 in 2008.

Mentioning that, I read that Samsung is making a "Galaxy Mega" that has a 6 inch screen. The line between what size constitutes a tablet and a smart phone is getting blurrier :lol.

I love my iPhone. Always have. I'm just bored with the OS. I checked out the S4 and One today. The S4's back is where it really looks and feels cheap. The One is the best phone I've ever held. This is a tough decision. One deciding factor may be this. I know a person that my be able to get me a one for $200 with no contract or upgrade required. If I can bank my upgrade and get a one for that price, it's a done deal. Then I can wait and see what apple does next year. I'm sure the 5 will just get another small upgrade.

People don't expect the next iPhone to be much of an update.

Personally for me, I think I'm going to wait for the Nexus 5, supposed to be coming out later this year and it'll have the clean Android OS without any of the Samsung junk added

Can't you pretty much do what you want? By that I mean add or remove whatever you don't like?

Apple will just put phone capabilities in their iPads then. :lol

I don't think you an remove the Samsung stuff unless you root the phone, which most people don't want to have to do. Like on my current phone there's some Verizon apps that I can't uninstall.

I don't know for sure, but I would think that the Samsung apps probably can't be removed. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

I use both and iOS is much more reliable and "feels" more polished for sure. I hate what Apple has been doing lately though - new App Store (bad layout, one app in search results, and very slow), Maps was not ready, and iOS is starting to get a little boring and old. That said, I find my Nexus 7 and S3 feel both cheap in the sotware and hardware.

I usually end up using my iPad mini as my main tablet and the Nexus 7 now for old NES and SNES games on emulators. :) I own iPad 1, 2, 3, Mini, Kindle Fire, and Nexus 7 and would rank them:

iPad Mini
iPad 2
iPad 3
iPad
Nexus 7
Amazon Fire (this thing is awful)

The iPad 2 is actually thinner and lighter than the 3 but has less resolution. Not a big deal because the 3 is not nearly as comfortable over time. It does make a difference so I hope the next iPad is back to being thin and light again.

I am not sure what my next phone will be but I did REALLY like the HTC One. Great sound too.

Yeah I have the whole iPad family as well with the exception being the mini. That's why I don't mind ditching the iPhone. I never use it when I'm home. I can't wait for the tablet to totally take over my iMac. That said I'm heavily leaning towards the One. With kids though I take lots of pics with my phone on the go. So I can appreciate that the S4 has a better camera resolution wise. That said I think I take more pics inside (where the one shines). I haven't had an android device before so I want the one that is going to make the transition a good one.
