Darth Maul pose I'm kind of so so on would of rather of had the blade out front instead of behind.

My favorite maul pose would have been they way he was standing after his first battle with Qui-Gon. Full robes holding the saber with one blade lit out to his side in an upward angle watching the Naboo ship fly away.

Are you THAT sensitive Josh? Saying you're clueless is calling you names? Hardly, calling you an @$$hole would be calling you names and I did no such thing.

I didn't say it bothered me. I was just pointing out that you could not state that I was wrong IYO without being rude/calling names/whatever.

Saying you're officially clueless is not calling you names.

Fine it's not calling names it's just rude. You don't agree with my decoding of your post that's fine. Tell me I'm wrong and why. I find no need to be rude.

You cannot state that I am putting down the 1/6 line unless I either say I am or you have ESP and know my thoughts towards the line. I called you clueless because you took my post saying 1/6 dolls are made for posing and assumed and stated that I put the line down when you do not have a clue what my thoughts on it are. So, when one has no clue the term "clueless" does apply.

I gave my opinion and I was wrong on it IYO. That doesn't mean I'm clueless. Just that I was wrong.

You have to understand that anything short of praise to all things SS is an insult to Josh. Even saying something is better than something else hurts his feelings.

Please. It's nothing like that at all. If you REALLY think so then you have totally fooled yourself into that line of thinking. I'm a TAD tougher than that.

This is the last I will say about it as I am not trying to up my post count to get to 20,000. I don't see how I was any more rude than you were when you made incorrect assumptions, but whatever. I often forget that you play by your own rules or you take your ball and go home.

PS - That's a bet Loki would win!:emperor

I honestly hope that the pose on this figure is not too dynamic or action oriented. I just want a simple pose that captures the character fully. Just look what a "dynamic" pose did to Frodo's likeness.

I agree. I'm still not sure I'll pick this one up, though. I was waiting for the Grey version. I actually like the pose in the pic that Josh posted.

I can certainly see a light-up feature added to the top of his staff. It would work better with the Grey version but would be a nice touch to the White version.

If I can find a job (ha ha ha) then I will maybe save up for this, as he's one of the only characters besides Faramir that I just HAVE to have. Gandalf the Gray I want in 1:6 format, but Gandalf the White seems perfect for PF......

I made an incorrect assumption. That's not rude that's just being wrong. I didn't go around calling you clueless or I would have been as rude. Not sure how you don't see the corelation but ok. Play by my own rules? :lol is all I can say to that. Taking my ball and going home? I'm not the one storming out of this discussion and I'm sure as hell not leaving the board. :) So my ball will stay right here. :)

If that makes ya sleep better. :)

Don't worry Josh, one day you'll be too busy to post 22,000 messages in a year and a half on a collectors board and you'll "storm" away from a pointless debate too.

You'll work full time, move out of your folks house and find a social life and all will be right with the world. :D

Now now now guys.........

Back to Gandalf the White, I wonder if they'll give him a real metal sword. That would be amazing! Add a light up staff to that...........

I know I'm a bit late [been on vacation] but this is a shocker! I'm sure it's been said already but SS should be commended for giving us this announcement ahead of schedule. Big news for LOTR fans, of which I am one, although I have been called a LOTR hater because my opinions don't line up with some other's...so be it

I don't know if I will be ordering this PF [as I usually only collect the "baddies"], but it is a great choice by SS to revive interest in this line, especially as they have had so much success in accurately sculpting Gandalf's likeness in the past in both statue and bust form.

My only question....I thought I read somewhere that SS would be concentrating of characters previously ignored in the SS/ Weta line? If so, GTW would hardly qualify with two statue's and a bust already produced. Was there actually anything ever written concerning this?

Well, actually I've been posting on the board since March of 2004ish so that's 22,000 over three years. :)

No such thing as a pointless debate. You learn something with every one. Even if it's a minor thing. Maybe that's the continual learner in me. :D

I work full time now. :rotfl I have a social life that's just fine for my life and as far as moving out. Right now I'm saving for a house and I don't look at living at home as a bad thing. My family and I are very close so I love being close to my folks. We're a tight nit group.

I'm not as concerned with GTW's clothes turning yellow. If you keep them in a sunlit room, then yes. But if you keep them away from the damaging UV rays, then I can see where you can have years of enjoyment.

The one bright spot (sorry, couldn't avoid the reference) to his outfit is that they can make this as lavish as what it looks like on film. GTW's outfit was several layers of refined hemmed clothing. All that SS needs to nail are 3 things:
1) Great facial sculpt
2) Clothing material that looks top notch
3) Classic GTW pose

I'll base my desire to purchase from these 3 criteria. So, here's hoping SS can do a homerun.

So? Gandalf the White? Cool :monkey1

And Josh, you're right. You might actually last 30 seconds after running around the ring for the first 20.

You know I love to pick on you but you are way too sensitive. You ALWAYS come to SS's defense no matter what the situation. It's really quite sad. Not too many people would be proud that they have over 20K posts because it signifies that you do nothing but sit around and post. It's even scarrier to think that you belong to other message boards and could have just as many on those :google

I'm not afraid of anyone. Period. That's not being arrogant I'm serious. I don't have time to be afraid because if I did then I would leave myself open to failure. I can't get a good teacher and good coach if I do that.

The thing is that you and others take it as me being sensitve. That's not the case. I don't know how I can get those of you that don't get it to get it. When someone says something I precieve as (insert term here) then I'm gonna call them on it. That's not defending anyone just using some logical train of thought. If that's considered coming to the defense then so be it I'm just tossing in my two cents. That's what the board is for right?

Why should I be ashamed of 22k posts over three years? I enjoy being here and talking with you all. I don't find that anything to be ashamed of plain and simple. Here's food for thought. You've been here for just a little over a year and are nearing 6800 posts. Take my 22,000 over three years and it's 7333 posts a year. That's 533 posts more a year than you have if you stay at the same average. So what does that say about you then? Are you ashamed of it? As I said I enjoy posting here and the other boards I post on which is 2-3 outside this one. I'm not gonna be ashamed of it.

Is any of this really neccessary? Let's discuss Gandalf here rather than use this place as a boxing ring. All of you people are good and intelligent; let's not demean that with petty rantings. PM if you want to continue, but please let us discuss Gandalf here. Let go of the differences and make this place a little more pleasant to be in.

Now back to Gandalf..........

Of course it is. How much can we talk about a figure that we haven't seen yet? But we can pick on Josh forever :D

Technically... it was Weta that did the statue and bust of GTW. So Sideshow is unproven in that regard. Technically. :D

(Also technically, Oluf sculpted GTG for the bookends, in a rare instance of a Sideshow sculptor helping out with a Sideshow/Weta product.)

As for your question... I suppose someone at Sideshow decided the current SS/W statue had a funky enough pose to merit a properly (read: neutrally) posed PF. Or at least one with its arms down by its sides. Which is fine by me.

And as for you collecting only baddies... well, noone is more badass than GTW. Seriously.
