If they can the Jabba accessories because this piece sells like ass, so be it. Carbo Han and the throne are all that's necessary anyway. I'm tired of their lame tactics of squeezing collectors' balls with the threat that, "Hey, if you don't buy even our ____ty releases, we'll cancel the rest!" They have polls, comment sections, Q&A, chat as well as this forum and therefore, the means of testing collector interest to see what would be popular and what wouldn't. Not utilizing that is just ____ing straight-up laziness or blatant oversight.

As for the Gammy variant, they're cutting their own noses off by announcing it before the original ships. Look how many freaks have canceled 2nd orders to pick him up. In essence, they're losing sales by announcing him now, before the OG has shipped. Yet another brilliant marketing scheme. :cuckoo:

:goodpost::exactly:

Same BS they used with LOTR, frankly its getting tiresome

Seems like something as simple as the steps next to Jabba's throne would have made freaks here a lot more happier.:)

Sideshow is focusing on a Jabba set-up. They've produced a Jedi Luke that looks silly in a Jabba set-up.

Y'know those plastic dog turds that they use to hide keys in?? They look very much like real dog turds, right?? They did a great job sculpting a plastic dog turd. There's really only one use for a plastic dog turd. Personally, I like my figures to not be a metaphor for a plastic dog turd.

This really sounds angry to me. Kind of negates your credibility.

as someone mentioned earlier the arch looks like a bombed out section of a building & seems like it would fit in better with military figures instead of the jabba palace........:dunno

I think even more customers would be livid if the second Gammy was announced AFTER the first one shipped. Then they'd be stuck with the first one with no options.

At least with this announcement people can make a better choice an pick whichever they prefer. I think it's a good move on Sideshow's part.

I'll even go one step further... What if Sideshow saw enough people ordering more than one Gammy and said "hey, if we can get a variant head sculpt turned around quickly enough we can offer it as a second guard, giving collectors a choice and a better looking display."

I don't think they are going to lose sales with this move, they are catering to collectors who would have bought two anyway. And those who would have only bought one now have another option.

I think everyone wins with this sales approach. And I think it's great that they were able to produce this quickly before the first one shipped.

Uh... :lol Nobody's "bought" anything yet. Sideshow hasn't billed for the first one. Did you just hit "last page" and see what's here and reply to it? There are already several posts in this thread from those who were ordering 2 regulars and canceled one (that means Sideshow loses an order for a Gammy) to pick this one up. So instead of getting an order for three (two regulars and this variant), they're only getting one regular and one variant. Some are even passing up the regular to get this one for the axe, so they're further losing out on sales. Bottom line, they should've waited to announce him until after the first Gammy had shipped. Sure customizers would be bent, but like Sideshow has ever cared about that before anyway. :huh

I've been following this thread since it started, thanks for asking.

I understand how you feel Sideshow has lost business by the timing of this announcement. I just don't share your feelings that Sideshow has blundered by NOT screwing it's customers into buying a second or third figure.

As many of you have said, how nice of sideshow to save me from spending money.

yet another waste of a good idea. and then, after producing said waste, charging more than i'd pay for even the stairs, or something useful, instead of a destroyed corner of bantha poodoo.

Yeah I agree about that. It may not make the best sense from their point of view but I'm not sure why any of us would be complaining about that aspect of it.

i want the rebo band and the BBQ pit thingy. both would have been better selections than this wall chunk.

Totally agree... Band would be great, and the BBQ Pit (which would have looked awesome behind Jabba) would have been a purchase.

Wonder if it was originally made for another license, but then slapped a door opener doohickey on it and called SW :lol

Maybe it was a prototype for the Weapons Cache desert environment for G.I. Joe? That has an arch as well. Though, for that same price, you get a whole arch, some pots and a coyote. :lol

Yeah, just an arch... no critters or extra bits seems ridiculous to me. I get its kind of a large piece, but that makes the blandness of it stick out even more :huh

This could have at least included the windchime that Leia hits her head on in ROTJ.

I have to agree that this would look cool in my Jabba setup though. From the looks of it this thing is taller than the Han Carbonite enviro.
