I will just add this... this thread is getting into dangerous territory... please stay on topic and refrain from any insults and name calling... and maybe it will still be here in the morning.

I will add that Lonnie is a douche and I am going to bed. :lecture

See you on GOW ******!

I am going to bed. At least be fortunate that most of you have one to go into to. I know I am.

Seriously Carl are you telling me that the cost of figures is more important than the cost of this child?
Uh, no. And neither would about 99.9% of the population. But how are the two relevant to one another... other than someone wanting to inject real world "perspective" on a toy collecting forum?

However, dare I ^^^^^ about the cost when there is ^^^^ like this in the world? Hell no!
Well, good for you. I continue to say everything is relative. You could just as easily say "How dare those quadrillionaire oil execs raise the price of oil only out of greed when people who make barely over minimum wage are already being squeezed at the pump??"

No one likes to be lectured on morality, especially when it's unnecessary.

that means that the politicians don't give a bunk about us. they are told what to do by the corparations, they are the one's running ^^^^ on the hill, big profits for the big oil companies....

But that wasn't my question.

Edit to add quote :)

Your article didn't answer my question. I'm just curious because there is a difference so I just want to know whether the 400% is profits or profit margins.

You just proved my point my friend. You feel you are worthless and act accordingly. You sir :rock!

i feel i'm worthless? hopefully you won't remember this thread once you've had time to sleep it off. :duff

Maybe I'm assuming you know the difference. Do you? That's not a put down or anything, economics is very complex and maybe no one has explained it before.

teemu wispers from afar........the higher prices on gas (and going up) is a hidden tax...
inflation itself is a hidden tax...our dollar is being de-valued by the day...the fed prints money out of thin air..backed by NOTHING! our toilet paper money standard is going to crash and burn and become worthless overnight! its being done by design..soon oil hits $200 a barrel...gas hits 5-6 dollars a gallon in the next year and rumored to hit $10 a gallon.....the imploding of our economy has begun!

does profits or profit margins make it any different at the pumps? i read profits. if you're that concerned about the exact percentage, do a search. i read that number this morning. let me guess, you use public transportation?

all i'm saying is that regardless of what you and i think or say or bit%$ about nothing will change untill the people open their eyes and see what's really going on under the table. and as far as your question, it's their profit.......

but i'm touching a subject not to discused in this forum. And i'm sorry if i ofended anyone but the reality is why bitc% just enjoy life and be thankfull for what you have.....:chew:chew:banana:banana

Who is that being directed toward?

Anybody who doesn't know the difference (and wants to) I guess. I mean in the bottom line it doesn't matter because the high price sucks, and whether its profits or profit margins doesn't say they aren't greedy, it just puts the number in a different perspective.

:lol it sure seems like we're heading down that path, doesn't it? hopefully the people will have something to say way before that happens.

Oh, well the answer is they are pushing BOTH ever higher all the time, which is why congress keeps rolling out a dog n pony show to appear they care and are grilling the oil execs. But to take a page from the book of teemu, we all know that the oil companies line the pockets of the politicians through special interests... so it's all a facade.

:lecture:lecture:lecture:lecturethank you! put a fork in it it's done......

No, I drive an hour to internship and an hour home three days a week. And sicne I'm an intern I don't get paid and I spend about 70 dollars a week on gas.

Anyway its not the number, profits are effected by the amount people buy. So if people buy 10 items at one dollar each and it costs me 90 cents to make I make 10 cents for every item. So if I sell 100 I get a buck. However if I sell 400 I get tfourwo bucks. My profit increased 400%, but my profit margin 10% stayed the same because I didn't raise the price, I just sold more. But since oil is going up in price its not as simple to compare so that's what I was wondering. And liek I said to Irish, even if it is profit margins it doesn't say the oil companies aren't greedy and squeezing us, it just puts the number in a little different perspective.
