Got it!! It was the Boomshield. Guess it didnt count when i did it in the campaign.

Gears 2 Old-School Weekend Starts Tomorrow

Epic has announced another event coming up this weekend. One of the fixes they are looking at for TU4 (Title Update 4) is the removal of the concussion effect from smoke grenades. To test this idea, matches this holiday weekend from tomorrow May 22nd at 9am EST through Tuesday May 26th at 9am EST will be old-school four on four with no concussing smokes.

Personally I think the concussion effect is good, but the blast radius is entirely too large and affects people who should not be touched (like people in cover away from the epicenter). Based on community feedback, Epic will decide if the concussion effect should be removed entirely.

Best-case scenario? A dedicated "Old-School" playlist where there is always "4v4 No Concuss" rules, keeping the game largely unchanged for those of us who have gotten used to the current state of things.
