Dont think I have seen them. I know that must be a prototype but that looks lovely. Facial sculpt doesn't look too shabby for a statue. The rear end also doesnt look too shabby

GG's Babydoll 18" statue is awesome, IMO!

I sold mine because it didn't fit in with my comic art based collection It was for a very good price but I regret it even though I picked up Gambit ex pf with the cash.

Looking at those pics, with views from all angles, I think the balance of this piece is great! I love how shes leaning back on the blocks slightly but the balance is maintained by the long sniper rifle. Blocks or no blocks that sculpt just looks right/ the statue "comfortable" and natural to my eye.

And yes Babydoll was gorgeous but consoling my loss with this simple fact. This is ScarJo...in a black widow suit.....at 1/4 scale!!!

The sculpt and paint apps are beautiful, IMO!

Not sure about the portrait on that one, or the ? fabric suit (it looks baroness awful potentially) and the way she was slipping down the snow slope. Reminded me of the first bishoujo statue of black widow. Luckily the rubbish ex it has allows us (as in me) to wait, see in hand pics and say we were wrong/change our mind at a later date lol Bizarrely my collection is comic based but I prefer this one. I am justifying it as it will fit in with the hulk and iron man legacy maquettes I own...all film based of course although not as obviously as this one.

Black widow statues are like Elektra statues IMO. Nobody seems to have made a perfect 1/4 scale one yet (for me anyway) lol. This would be close, for me, if it had a more normal battlefield base....

BUT the sculpt and paint app are very, very nice

Yeah, apart from the likeness which I thought looked strong, this is the aspect to this piece that I keyed on when I first saw it.
Very naturalistic, realistic weight distribution/posture for a human figure holding this kind of prop.
Seems to me this is often the antithesis of most SS statues, where I often have to wonder just how many of their artists and designers have spent time actually studying the human body- how it moves and how body language expresses concepts
- or if they just pull a bunch of reference books off the shelf and copy what they see.
I'm still baffled as to how they arrived at the pose and choice of accessories for their BW comic PF.

The base doesn't bother me. In some ways I do appreciate that subtleties of the figure is so strong that the focus isn't diverted or obfuscated by a bunch of inconsequential detail. OTOH, at some point after the novelty has fallen off, it will be a fun project to craft an alternate environmental base for it.

I just hope the production pieces that end up in our hands look as good as these newer pics.

I agree with roberto. I would probably buy a custom base if one was available(I know he will just make one lol)

Couldn't resist anymore just put down my deposit at CD UK for this piece. Forget the the clear base. Focus on the beauty that is the GG baby doll for example and be convinced lol.

Congrats I ordered from Lee abt 2 weeks ago and have made her my first female character PO she looks too good to pass on

This custom base idea with the SHIELD logo & the crates is okay but the bullets and rock look out of place and those fuzzy slippers(?)

Oh agreed Mark, I was more applauding the concept rather than the actual design...thinking of having her displayed on smashed concrete/rubble and how cool would it look having one or two Chitauri soldiers laying around

I really don't like the previous Black Widow (movie version). When it comes to portraying a human person, I honestly think that Gentle Giant is doing a better job. I am basing this on their sculpts for Sucker Punch and Honey Trap, but also the Darth Maul with spider-legs.

Nope, if Sideshow produces their version I'll pick that one up too if I like what I see.
