Well I'm new to this game, currently only into original movie posters but I got sucked into the Hot Toys with after seeing the new Black Widow, the more I search through this forum the more I regret it :gah: then I stumble upon this thread! I'm snatching Whisper and sticking her right next to my Death Is A Woman British Quad...

I guess I'm not buying anymore posters for a while.

That'll make a great display!

:welcome1: to the :FREAK: Show! :wave

Thanks. I don't know what I've gotten myself into... I think I've fallen down another Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole... at least with this kind of thing (these and HT) I can pre-order and not have to pay for a while, where as vintage movie posters it's buy it when you find it there's no time to think it over. Well I was meaning to stop spending so much on posters and frames, but that wasn't to spend it on another expensive hobby! :slap

Need to get back to selling crap on eBay to fund these things!

:lol

That's a great way of putting it! :lol

This hobby can be a wallet killer for sure! :lecture

It's very easy to get swept up in the hype of a new product, a collector just has to remember to collect what he really wants and not go overboard.

I think that is hobby is worse than crack, I've had to resort to being a male gigolo to support my polystone habit! ;)

Welcome bro! I just join 3 months ago for SS collecting. But this hobby moves fast. It's fun and there's always something to buy. You miss some no big deal. There will be others to buy.

Thanks, I'm trying to keep it under control. I'm sticking to things that go well with the type of posters I collect. At least the plus to these collectibles is they're pretty likely to increase in value, at least most of the stuff I researched seems to go up in value after it's sold out. So buying what I like with the upside of it possibly being worth more in the future as a decent investment makes it easier.

Nice posters. Are you a member at All Poster Forum? I've not given up poster collecting (I actually just got into it the end of last year), and just started getting into Mondo prints recently too but my area of poster interest is pretty narrow and I recently finished framing what bare space I had in my office so the drive the look for stuff to frame isn't as strong, plus my main focus is pretty much limited to certain large Italian posters and other foreign cult genre themed posters out of the 60's and 70's which doesn't pop up too frequently, which isn't a bad thing, forces me to be a little more picky. I'm hoping they hurry up a take pre-orders on these so I don't miss out. Really only interested in Whisper (as everyone else seems to be) she really goes with my 1960's cult poster genre I'm into, she'd fit in well with some of my Euro-spy posters.

I visit but not a member APF because I would spend too much time there.I can barley keep up with the SS Freaks here.
Good to have a specific genre keeps you focused and your finances closer to the belt.I have been collecting film posters for almost 18 yrs now.
I started collecting Anime Figures about 11 years ago and then in 2005 came across The Hulk PF at the SS booth at SDCC and I was hooked.I try to stay focused on 1/4 scale SS PF figures otherwise this hobby will easily get $ way out of hand for me.And already has on a couple of occasions.

This is a great Forum and the Freaks here will keep you posted and updated on the GG Honey Trap Army Figures.Again welcome to the Freaks.

No one's mentioned this (although I did fast forward through most of the thread) but, is the original art by Fleet street Scandal? It looks very similar to their Yuki 7 art. It's got the same 60's vibe.

It's Kevin Dart. I tired to post a link but I guess I don't have approval to post links... anyhow Google him. He's got a tumbler blog with the art. He must be affiliated with those companies you mentioned has he's got links to them on his blog.

Here's a couple of my favorites that I currently have framed. Eventually I might get around to putting pics of my collection on my website. But this is a general idea of what I collect poster wise, a lot of Italian 2-Sheets which are 39x55 inches. I've gravitated to these because the art is usually vastly superior, plus most of the cult films or actresses I'm into right now came out of Italy.

Marisa Mell is my current "obsession" these are my two favorites. The first one is actually a 4 sheet it's quite huge 55x78 inches. The second is a 2 sheet I just recently had linen backed and restored.

I'm also into Hammer Films (which is a British film company) here's one of my favorites. This is a German poster.

And here's one wall of my office at work.

So the Whisper would fit in quite nicely with not only the British Quad I posted earlier but also a majority of my Italian posters. I'm quite interested in seeing what these guys put out in the future in terms of characters. Would love to see something around the theme of a One Million Years BC type figure (which was a Hammer Film with Raquel Welch), really the skies could be the limit and the right ones could fit into my collection quite nicely. Right now I'm only sold on Whisper, as she's really the only one that goes with my posters, but if the price was right Lucky might be a second pick.
