Ok time for you guys to get back on topic and quit with the back and forth _____ing.

Now to get this thread back on topic I'll give a few of my thoughts on this movie.

First off the story was awful. It was like one big chase scene after the other with a little dialog sprinkled here and there and would have made for a decent Ghost Rider comic book back in the day but not for a movie. I loved having Blackout as a villain but would have liked the fight scene to last a little bit longer
and not be on the hood of a car
. And who the hell is Fargo or whatever the hell his name was give me Mephisto not some wannabe.

I did like the look of GR's bike it really reminded me of the one Blaze rode in the comics I had when I was kid. I didn't like the burnt skull look too much and wasn't a fan of his melted leathers either. I really did like the way they portrayed GR in the fight scenes with the way he moved and how he just gave off a creepy vibe when he is first seen in the movie by swaying back and forth.

I guess if you are a fan of GR and you just have to see him on the big screen then check it out during a cheap matinée and if you are not a fan stay away from it because you will be greatly disappointed.

I just want to point out a couple things that people clearly seem to have a problem with, and maybe try to change perceptions as far as looks go for the new GR. If I can sway some opinions, then cool. If not, oh well I tried. So her we go.
1) just think about the way the Joker was designed for the Dark Knight movie. It was a more realistic take where the smile was converted into scars, while the makeup was extremely messy. Nothing like the Nicholson 1989 Joker where his face looked, well, more perfected.
So saying this, why can't old Ghosty have a realer look?
2) Going off of number 1, just think about it. If a skull was constantly on fire, wouldn't it be charred? Also the clothing would be a little crispy. C'mon guys, in the first flick, he had a friggin t-shirt on and it looked so stupid, that it still makes me cringe. Sure it was more traditional like the comics, but I thought most of us like the realism in movies these days to make things more believable. That is IF you can even believe in spirits of vengeance and flaming skulls.
3) the bike in my opinion was genius. I'm kinda over the whole chopper thing. I remember watching a biker build off on Discovery with Jesse Jame and the American Chopper guys, and just realized that those American Chopper jerkofffs have been destroying choppers for a while now, and Jesse James called them out on it bigtime. Strange thing is, Jesse James built the first GR movie bike. Money is money, so I'll give him a pass.
I just think the V-max was a good change. It looks more like something that an average person might have in Blazes current "on the run" status.

So there is a couple of points that maybe can help somebody sway some minds a little bit. I just don't understand it because everybody loved the whole Joker thing, but have such a hard time with GR changing. I bet if Christopher Nolan did GR and made these changes, everybody would be in line to stroke him.

Yes, and wouldn't it turn to ash as well? :cuckoo:

Well..there goes Ghost Rider, killed by himself. Nothing he could do about it.

When somthing is being charred, it is being burned, damaged..it is being destroyed. So if you want it to be realistc, his enitre skull should be eventually disintegrated.

The Joker is a maniac..not a living, flaming skeletal bike rider who hunts demons or whatever.. Going by what you say, Ghost Rider shouldn't even exist in the first place. He's a supernatural being, with supernatural powers. Somthing that could never exist in our world..so you can't apply those rules to him.

I like both designs now, but still much prefer the clean look. I was never a fan of Ghost Rider, never read the comics or anything..but when I think of him, I imagine the clean white skull and wicked, ghoulish flaming bike.

I think you're taking what I said too literal. Yeah sure his head would burn completely up if IT WAS REAL. I was just going for what would be more realistic, if you did happen to see something like it. That's all.
C'mon, your Joker argument is kinda in the same realm. Guy falls into an acid pool, gets his skin bleached and goes crazy. Whatever. Last time anybody got exposed to radiation, they didn't get super powers. They die.
I was just trying to shed a different light to all of us comic dorks.
At least you said that you like both looks. That's a start.
It's like I said before. If Nolan did this, everybody would be ranting about how genius it was.

TDK batman has taken alot of liberties with the batsuit, no one complains :dunno

Funny thing is, they usually do that to sell more toys!
But sir, once again are correct. But Nolan did it, soooo it's okay. I agree with you 100%
Now what I have to say next is not even remotely directing it towards you at all. I'm just want to point it out to the rest.
Here is how perception is worked into a math problem about the exact same movie that came out.
Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance+Nolan= greatest thing EVER
Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance+Crank directors=not so great movie

Oh god, here comes the flack but bring it on.
Dark Knight is extremely overrated and not good as Begins
Inception just sucked
Yeah I said it

I prefer Begins to TDK as Begins looks to be set in Gotham whereas TDK looks to be set in any generic US City, it took the dark atmosphere away IMO

Also, as you already pointed out (sorta) that in TDK they strayed more away from batmans more original look. But talking against Nolan is blasphemy on these here boards. I can only hope 3 doesn't blow. Impossible! Right people? Ugh

One question, that scene of GR peeing hellfire, that isn't in the film, right?

The boy asks Blaze what if he had to pee as the Ghost Rider would it be like a flame thrower and Johnny says "yes like a giant flamethrower" and stands up and acts like he is taking a leak off the side of the rollback they are on and the boy starts laughing and imagines what the Ghost Rider would look like in that stance pissing fire.

Sounds silly but it sets up a nice scene between JB and the boy.

Thank you, good sir! :duff: That sounds far better than what I imagined.

I especially like the smile and the nod. Awesomeness!

It probaly will. Nothing looks even half as good as tdk as of yet from what I'm seeing imo

I laughed. I knew it was going to be in the film. Why wouldn't it be? It's a Neveldine/Taylor flick.

I'm just surprised he didn't have sex with anyone on fire...:lol
