Back off man, I'm a scientist.

Man i love him except for the lenght of the pants.

Yeah, that's the only thing that bugs me right now. But, I think it is something I can overlook. I'm thinking of doing two Venkmans (this one and one with the Rocco head), and maybe I'll get a different flight suit for the second figure with longer legs. Otherwise, I really really like this suit. There's still a bit of work that needs to be done on this guy, but you get the real essence of the character at this point. I'm pretty psyched to finally have a Venkman figure worth displaying.

Venkman looks great, but you may want to rethink the paint scheme on the terror dog?
:lol

Yeah, I considered it (years ago I had that poster on my wall :D ). Would probably look better, but I like that he's got something in his dress to distinguish him from the others.

Been eyeing up this thread for a while now. I've finally taken the plunge and ordered up a set of the Mattel figures. I started collecting sixth scale last year and have developed an appetite for customising. Pics coming...at some point in the future!

Hey guys, anyone know where I can find some proton packs, a trap and a pke meter? Can't find any on eBay and don't really want to buy the whole mattel figure for a few bits

Thanks

Your better off buying the mattel figures and swapping out the bodies and sculpts.
Will work out cheaper in the long run.
Doubt you will find the parts cheap or at all.
Have seen 1 pack and 1 trap recentley sell on ebay but not cheaply.
Havn't seen any pke meters.
The mattel jump suit is worth having if you dye it or maybe you can sell the unwanted parts on.

Also am looking for some myself.
What is the best price to buy all 4 figures delivered to the uk or has anybody in the uk got any for sale?

I have everything already, flight suits belts etc but looks like I will end up buying the whole figure if I can find them for a decent price. the shipping on eBay is ridiculous.

Good luck with the gear guys. I was fortunate to get in on a Mattycollector sale awhile back and got those figures for a song (only Winston and Egon, but still). In hindsight, I would have bought more. It's possible that Matty will over some more up for sale again down the road, but who knows?

Here's my updated Venkman. I think he works better with bare hands. And I decided to follow Mr. E's suggestion and tuck in the pants. Just looks better, even if he'll have to be "movie poster" version.

Indeed, shipping to the UK will cost you. I got my set of 4 off an eBay seller for £210. After taking customs and VAT into account, the damage was £260, so I'll have paid £65 a piece. Could be worse.

He looks great! The only other thing that strikes me right away is the length of the wire loom from the wand to the pack. I actually shortened those on my Mattel figures. It's relatively easy. Just pop the pack off the motherboard, and unscrew it. Once there, the wire loom can slip out easily; cut to desired length. Presto!

No problem. Just noticed the tan belt too, but no biggie! Whatever makes you happy is what counts!

Painting those is pretty much the only option. Good tip on shortening the positron hose too, Mr. E. That was kind of annoying me.
