I contacted 1/6th king and was told they can re size them no problem. They even offered to send them free of charge and I was told to just keep the smaller ones. They then asked me the correct size to re print, so can someone measure the Matty logos or give me an idea of the size we're after?

Lookin good, GB! :clap Those Spencer heads definitely hold up.

I agree... they aren't quite as refined as some of the other options; but the likenesses are very strong.

I gotta be honest... I don't see a need to replace the Mattel suits. They look appropriately baggy to me. With water threatment they look perfect IMHO. THat saves me 100$ and lot of effort. lol.

Galactiboy can you give us a run down of how you did the tea bath?

Again I agree... the Mattel suits while a bit cheap (the little silver tabs instead of a zipper) are well tailored and can look very good.

Tea bath is easy... just heat up a cup of very dark tea (I just use a family size tea bag of generic Wal Mart tea) and then while it's still hot fully submerge the outfits and let them sit for 15 minutes or so. Then rinse them out to get rid of excess and let them dry.

It has two effects; darkens the suits a bit and makes them look a bit worn.

Just FYI, apparently some of the Matty suits have longer pants legs than others. So if you want to use one for Venkman you may look for that.

Correct, I think both Venkman and Zedmore have the longer pants. I had 2 Zedmore's and 2 Egon's when I did mine (they were on sale for like $24 a piece).

Damn GB, that set is nice!

Thanks man, and of course I forgot to mention the stand decals from EvilFace :duff

Ha! Just checked after I caught this. Zeddemore's uni. is about a half inch longer in the legs. Its also just slightly darker.

Incidently Egon's is longer in the arms.

This big enough for yall? (that's what he said!!)

That looks ace, 'face! :duff :hi5::goodpost:

I am feeling a bit like a spoiled child now, with Mando doing those great elbow pads and EF doing those patches.

We have the tools we have the talent!

:yess:

Also for those not familiar w/ the SSC Joe line:

Cobra sigil (that Face's patch is scaled to) on the left. Matty suit emblm on the right.

Had a go at dyeing my suit tonight.
Pretty happy with the result although it is very subtle.
Also made some new pads.
I used dylon antique grey in boiling water.
Ratio of about 2 litres water to half a teaspoon of dye.
Will weather it up with some dirt but think it is a pretty acurate colour, then again depends which still you look at:)
Still might give it a tea bath.
Getting a bit obsessed now need to give it a break lol

I watched the scenes where they wore the suits last night just focusing on color, and even within a scene, the suit seems to change color when they move into different light, or when there is a cut. I think the original, raw color was actually browner than it appears throughout much of the movie (in a couple of scenes it appears quite brown), but the suit may have faded as filming progressed. Or, they may have had multiple suits. But the earlier post by Mr. E suggests to me that the faded, grayish hue is legit, and not just some trick of lighting or film quality.

Lighting and wear and tear/dirt/water, all play their part.
Havn't watched the film recently but was going for the washed out look.
Don't think one way is right or wrong, think everyones suits are looking good and each a personal choice which method you use.

not shure if someone notice this but the logo should NOT have any black line around the red circle

I agree completely. But I think you can go for what seems to be more original "real" suit color vs. screen color depending on what suits your interest (and of course, you've got a range of options in both instance depending on what images you go with).
