I just wish the pockets were more accurate. Still, it will work.

I still need to pay for my Venkman head, anybody know what Paypal I am supposed to send it to? I can't find it listed here for the life of me. :lol

I found another one that has all the pockets in the right places, and is even the right colour - except a little too dark:

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BBI-SWAT-She...hash=item360065638978&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318

Also, they're nice and cheap and the seller has 11 of them!

That's the suit I am waiting on right now and as a matter of fact I also picked up 4 of them from blackopstoys (he was originally selling 20 of them). I didn't post about it right away because as is the suit needs to have the pockets removed from both shoulders and the velcro patches removed (left/right breast and left/right shoulder). I wanted to have a crack at removing the unnecessary stuff so I could try some Rit color remover on the suit. I was waiting to post a link until I saw how successful my endeavors were.

The Craw/DarkArtist81:
Gotta be honest about the only thing that is really close on the Saturday Toys jumpsuits is the color and fit (might be a little too baggy on a Dragon body type). But the pockets are what spoil it for me. I can live with the waist pockets and technically if they were wearing a proton pack the back pockets would be covered up however the chest pockets would have to go. And the suit would have to have some sort of chest zip pockets (even if they were fake) so I would have to come up with some sort of pocket and sew it back on. Not too mention the suits also fall into the khaki color category and would have to be dyed grey. That's a lot of work for an $18 jump suit though I did order 1 as a fall back in case the "chuck morris" flightsuit doesn't work out.

sladesuperagent:
Ackroyd and Venkman are both a little soft in the middle in Ghostbusters which is whay I was going to go with the Mike Kirby "pot belly" figure made by Dragon. However after getting one it seems more like Mike Kirby is 9 months pregnant than just a simple pot belly. I thought I would sand it down to get the size belly I want but it's hollow underneath and I would have to putty it up when I was done. Not a deal breaker since I won't have my ghostbusters running around topless but I don't want to hurt flexability/poseabilty of the figure.

I ordered my stuff early Saturday morning from OneSixthDepot and haven't received shipping notice yet. I guess trying to pull that stuff together when you have over 10,000 different loose items in stock takes some time.

I think we also hafta think about how the pack will rest on the body and on the suit--especially when you add in the Alice frame and belt. I think when the suit is smaller on the body, it ends up looking more like the Andgor suit, which to me is ridiculously small. I rather have more room to work with than less.

As for the front pockets--I'm hoping they can be removed. If not, I'll just size the name tag to fit in that area and I think I'd be able to live with it. And the color is nothing but a drop into some grey-ish paint water. Again, I rather be able to work forward with these, as opposed to having to bleach or dye something. That's more steps than I want, so price for me becomes less of an issue for the ST jumpsuits.

And I found this earlier:

be patient with onesixthdepot. they take a while to ship. they took about 10 days to ship out my last order.

if the pockets are just sewed on you should be able to remove them with a thread cutter.

PS. Cotsworld huh? stop giving away all my secret backup stores!!!! first goodstufftogo and now this. i cant afford all 4 suits now so i need secret backup resources for later. i hate you man.:lol

I've really bought the SWAT suit as an experiment - I guess it could be a little tight, but at just $10.75 including shipping to the UK I felt it was cheap enough to take a chance on. I also have a saturday toys suit on order from the Orient (does it come with boots etc by the way?).

10 days?!

Boy I am spoiled by Monkey Depots one day turn around on orders. Oh well I guess it will be worth the wait.

Be careful of going overboard with a baggy suit. It might give you problems if you try and tuck pant legs into your boots. Not too mention you may end up pushing up the uniform sleeves if you are going to use gloves.

There's a great Daniel Craig custom in the General Collectibles section where someone speculates that the customiser has used flesh-tinted resin. Is this a widely used technique, and do people think this is a good idea? It might make everything very much easier for poor painters like me.

The pockets look big enuff to have been sewn on--here's to hoping. :duff

And sorry that I name dropped Cotswold--they're rarely ever mentioned in the custom threads, so they're always my go to guys. I picked up my HT ED-209 from them for retail and I've always loved their paper catalog even though they're going the way of the dodo. :lol

It's been talked about to death in this Deckard Bladerunner thread:

Apparently, some people here rather keep this method a secret. I think the DC Bond sculpt was Spenser's and I'm not sure he's as secretive, but, yeah, the process really makes the head sculpt realistic. I believe the head is cast in translucent flesh colored plastic and then lightly painted. The bubbles in the plastic allow for light to come through, which makes the "skin" look more real and thin

the saturday toys version comes with the suit, a white under shirt, socks and work boots. the boots arent tall ones like in the movie though.

BTW, peter venkman never tucks his pants into his boots in the film. the other guys do. so these short boots might work for him.:lecture

ok i swiped some yellowish o-ring thingy from work that im gonna try to use for that hose the ghostbusters have hanging from their hips. i think it is too thick a diameter though it's about 3/16 inches when it should probably be about 1/8. anybody have a close up reference pic of this hose from the film?

I'm interested in a Peter Venkmen, sign me up.

Heck, we need a Janosz too!

Once I assemble the suit I wouldn't mind finding a John Belushi sculpt to put in it, as a kind of Ghostbusters concept figure - he would have played Venkman had he lived, and the Onionhead ghost is a kind of tribute to him.

Between you going "concept" and me wanting to also go EU with a made up of celebrity Ghostbusters, we're sounding like a Star Wars thread, man! :banana:banana

i just got my goggles from onesixthdepot. they look like they will work perfectly. might paint them black. they are millitary green. the strap is big though and it doesnt appear to be adjustable. ill have to figure out how to make it tighter. if you want some accurate goggles for ray then i recommend these.

That's actually the goggles I was referring too when I suggested onesixthdepot but I didn't have the link handy. FYI though the movie goggles were just stripped down AN/PVS-5 goggle frames. And by stripped down I mean they removed the on/off/IR knob, leather face pad, and night vision tubes/objective lenses. They didn't paint the frame either it's still the original OD green fiberglass. They just added a replacement mounting plate and "fake" aluminum lens tubes. If you get the version in that link you might be able to get away with just repainting the lens tubes and calling it a day.
