And I have to say despite contrary belief Ernie Hudson is the true heart of the Ghostbusters. He was one of the coolest people I have ever met. Very down to earth and very friendly. He was telling me and my brother about the new game coming out this fall and how it was going to be like a sequel to the movie franchise. He was an all round class act and getting to meet him was like fulfilling a life long dream. One of these days I need to get around to doing a custom frame job of his autographed head shot with a Ghostbusters logo patch and Zeddemore name tape.

Could you please take a picture of yours??? I bought one also.

thanks

Sal
sorry i dont have a camera at the moment. they look like what that guy in Spook_Nukem's picture is wearing. they are pretty much perfect and a good deal.

i was talking about how long the strap is earlier. well it turns out the strap is held on to the mask with rubbery C-rings. you can very carefully pop these off and either cut the strap shorter(but you'll have to sew new loops on the ends). or you can replace it with an elastic strap(anybody know where to find one?) or you can run the straps through the loops in a kind of slipknot fashion.

got my saturday toys clothes today. 2 sets. look pretty cool. dont have a body to put them on yet. i like the zipper on the suit. its not oversized or anything. just hope i can find 2 more of these in the future. i would hate for my GBs to be mismatched.

Hey gang, wow, what a morning to wake up to!

Here I am, ready to run off to work, and I check my E-mails first, and I find two really important GB related E-mails. The first is from Storeroom about the uniforms and Alice packs. Get this...

Rick,
Most of these items need to produce for you.
When will you want these?
Thanks!

Produce? As in "make"? SWEET! We can ask for accurate uniforms and elbow pads if that's the case. I expect 90 posts on this before I get home. :whip

The second E-mail I'm gonna tease the hell out of you for... I just might have possibly gotten the first batch of Venkman pictures back from Ada for approval... :) :banana:banana:banana ... but I won't have time to post all off them to show you guys till later this evening when I get back. :angelsmil

He's not finished yet. There's definitely a few changes that need to be done, like she ended up giving him the STRIPES hair instead of Venkman hair, so that will need to change, and I think his nose will need to change in profile, be made bigger, but you know who the hell he is immediately and this is an awesome, happy-dance thing to see.

Sweet!
Later gang!
-Rick

Custom made Ghostbuster uniforms? Un-freakin'-believable! I've been thinking about going for the Saturday Toys coveralls... glad I decided to hold off a little longer!

I'm really looking forward to seeing those Peter Venkman pics! :D

Awesome news!!

I had *just* picked up some supplies from the hobby store to try scratch building some ALICE frames, but this sounds great!

I'd also be interested in some more accurate jumpsuits as well if we're taking about actual production on these.

are you sure they meant produce? i dont think they are a production company. i think they meant "obtain". translation was bad. they are hong kong based and some of there item descriptions are worded strange. either way i think im sticking with the saturday toys outfits cuz i already got 2 of em. still want those alice frames though if i can get a deal as well as 2 more saturday toys outfits.

Wow, Rick that is great news about the ALICE packs for the jumpsuits. I'd love to get four of those for all four Ghostbusters sometime after they're done. I'd like to see Ada's Bill Murray headsculpt. I'm sure that the changes you mention will make it more accurate to how he looked in Ghostbusters.

Guys, where online can I get the Saturday Toys jumpsuits? Please post a link to where I need to go for them. Thanks! I have two brown 21st Century Toys ones on the kitbash Aykroyd and Murray Ghostbusters I started last year. They look...okay, but they're not completely "screen accurate". Thanks! :D

Rick I'm still "in" for a custom unpainted head of Venkman, Stantz, Zeddemore and Spengler from Ada Chan. Thanks.

Alright, hey gang!

So I got an awesome E-mail from Ada this morning loaded with pics of her first attempt at a Peter head sculpt asking for approval.

This is always the scary stage as the commissioner, because as far as we're concerned on our end, what we're seeing is a "Work In Progress" untill we sign off on it, and if it doesn't looks anything like our character at this first stage when she thinks it's ready, we're in a world full of trouble.

It's also a time, at the beginning of a massive project a zillion forum members have jumped in on, that if it looks like ***, it would take the wind out of the sails of the entire project.

So, without further ado, here's the six pics she sent. I'll review a bit afterwards and discuss what few modifcations I see needing to be done with it, then of course I need to hear what changes you additions/corrections you guys think he may need. :joy

Hahahaha kind of looks like Ray Laiotta from Good fellas with that hair.

I think she´s a terrific artist. He looks pretty cool. I bed with the changes you noticed he will look excellent! Let his hair grow!!! :lol

We'll find out for sure when I reply to them, but I do think they meant produce though. I knew they are a Hong-Kong based company and there was a method to my madness of contacting them.

I told them a ballpark figure (shooting low) that I estimated we'd need approx 90 jumpsuits and 70 Alice packs.

I mean, we have nearly 40 people now wanting the Peter head alone now, not including Ray, Winston, Egon, and Louis! We may need way more.
And while not everyone is getting 4 proton packs, one Alice pack x 40 people in for the peter head is a safe estimate (since most people want at least ONE proton pack). Think of all the Alice frames that would mean! I also told them the need for matching boots and elbow pads for each set.

So my way of thinking, which could be wrong, is that as a HK based small company who sells Sat Toy stuff, they probably have a better/more direct relationship with the equally small Saturday Toys company (based out of China or HK?) than say Monkeydepot has, and could contact them to arrange something unique like this "make us an "X" # of just jumpsuits?

This is ENTIRELY supposition, so don't get excited yet. But I am working on my response this weekend.

BTW- Saturday Toy sets are very nice, if this could possibly end up being the equivilent to the same thing. I mean, the Tan PrisonBreak jumpsuit set came with the jumpsuit, a long sleeved thermal shirt, socks and shoes.

What if we could get a packaged set made up of a jumpsuit, boots, web belt, black T-shirt, and elbow pads? That would be the bomb! They sell an awesome skull on their site. I thought maybe it would be cool to see if they could get a clear green or red one as a prop, maybe black gloves, maybe Rays goggles. I dunno.

I will also inquire if the jumpsuits will be the same ones, or scratch made, where we could ask for modifications and a more exact color match.

And ask for the Alice packs to be made black?

I'm sure they would sell this stuff seperately as well. What do you guys think? What would you want?

Once we know what they can do, I'll take a (sigh...) list to see who's interested. Maybe we'll start a different thread for that at that point, and maybe someone else can take care of making the lists? :angelsmil (laugh)

WOW!! i like that sculpt alot. especially the mouth. dont change that smirk. the hair needs to be fixed. maybe a few other tweaks. but i like it. it looks beter than i thought it could. BTW thanks for organizing these custom head threads and trying to get equipment for us and stuff WST. i know you do a lot of them and i appreciate it. cheers.:duff

Thank you and everyone for being so passionate and all-around great people to do this with. If this was all just for me, I'd probabaly be too lazy to get very far, and certainly couldn't afford to do it, but everyones constant help and enthusiasm makes it entirely worthwhile! Everyone. So thank you all! You made this happen with your enthusiasm!

What kills me is how freaking professional looking everything is turning out, from the head(s) to Nicks packs, which as everyone else has said, the figures would be so half-done without the proper tech and just look at what Nick has done!!!!

I know there was a guy on One Sixth Warrior who made custom 1:6th cars...
have no idea about his price, but maybe an Ecto One is worth inquiring about, just because with this many fans, I bet we could afford to hire him, and regardless, it never hurts to ask?

I think Ada's Bill Murray as Peter Venkman head is on its way to looking good. I'd change the hair some. It looks just like his hairdo from Stripes, but not from Ghostbusters. Bill Murray made a movie almost every year in the 1980s, and his hair changed a little for each movie that I saw him in. I think his Venkman hair was a little flatter than his Stripes hairdo. It's hard to describe. His face looks good. If you do a Bill Murray head you HAVE to have his famous smirk. The head from Ada here has that popular smirk. So I'd leave that as it is.

Thanks again WST/Rick for all of your hard work for us on this HUGE Ghostbusters project! I appreciate it, and I know every other Ghostbusters fan on this board does too! :D

I would recommend you guys have her put the Bill Murphy sculpt onto the neck of a figure and photograph it for you before you give her your approval. The heads she sculpts are are often way to big... or way to little. :(

P.S. The neck looks to big (thick) or the head is too little.

nick's pack isnt gonna look very professional once i get a hold of it. it'll probably end up looking like a train wreck.:lol
