I would recommend you guys have her put the Bill Murphy sculpt onto the neck of a figure and photograph it for you before you give her your approval. The heads she sculpts are are often way to big... or way to little. :(

P.S. The neck looks to big (thick) or the head is too little.

Sound advice, and I will. I have never had a prob with any of my commissioned heads from her being the wrong scale, but I just recieved her Milla Jovovich head I ordered from her site and it's pretty much Mego sized (and when I write back about the Venkman changes, I'm gonna call her on that too).

The guys over at the PLANET OF THE APES website are very disappointed with the many sculpts they just received. (She's has a problem scaling these head sculpts to the proper size.)

I had Ada make me a head of Richardo Montalbon, and it was way to big. After waiting almost 3 months she finally resculpted it again for me and hit it me up with more expenses for her scaling error. Just have her get the scaling correct. That's a real problem with her sculpts and you won't know until it arrives on your doorstep. Good luck.

I wasn’t pleased with Armando once he arrived as there was a serious scaling issue. (Armando had a huge head. He would have made a better “bobble- head” than a 1/6 figure and, he was NOT useable in this state.

I had many discussions with Ada concerning this. It was resolved after nearly 3 months of waiting.

Attached are some of the original pictures I sent her, so you can get a sense of the scaling problem.

that is pretty big. if you slapped that on a body you'd have a walking candy apple. strange that she would make some heads bigger than others. hope these ghostbusters are alright.

Like I said, have Ada photograph the Bill Murphy head sculpt on a 1/6 scale body before giving her your approval. Hopefully, she'll do that for you guys. I asked her to photograph Richardo for me and she told me that "she didn't have the time."

Currently, Ada is messing up the scaling on other sculpts for some of my friends over at the Planet of the Apes Thread. They're in the process of writing her and waiting for a reply. They aren't too pleased... and very disappointed.

I wish you guys much success with this project. I hope she gets yours correct. :peace

I'm going to try to obtain some other pictures from some of the members here at Sideshow freaks website, so you can be the judge on Ada's scaling issues...

She got the scaling correct on Brent (James Francisous). [see post #306 - pictured above]

I was informed (as a joke) that Ada "must have been trying to save on clay" as she sculpted this particular head. It's supposed to be 1/6 scale. :rotfl

Yeah - right!

I'll stop lurking now and post this photo. Here is a really good example of her scale being way off. This is the Burke sculpt. The sculpt looked OK on her photo...but look how freaky it is on a 1:6 figure. Pretty damned sad. Very disappointing, to say the least. And to get her to change/tweak the sculpt for you? Good bloody luck!!!

The Venkman sculpt is off to a very promising start, and I don't think it'll take much tweaking to get the exact look most of us want.

As icruise pointed out, his jawline could use some adjustment... his jowls do look a little too puffy. You already mentioned that his nose could use some work too. The bridge of his nose could be a little higher, and the shape and thickness of his nostrils look a little off in the side view pic. Hard to tell from the angle of the photo, but it looks like the end of his nose should have a little more of a hook to it.

I also think the smirk could be widened just a tad, and his cheekbones could be a little less pronounced, or blended into his face more, to eliminate that slight "chipmunk" look he has now. Hope these comments are helpful. :D

He definitely has enough of Bill Murray's features to be easily recognizable, but with a few minor adjustments I think it'll be dead-on. I'm really looking forward to seeing the next round of WIP pics.
:banana

Edit: And I most definitely agree that we need some comparison pics to check the scale. All of the Ghostbusters heads need to be in scale with one another, or there will be..... trouble. :monkey4

One last item to think about before you guys go to bed. If she has too much to resculpt on the face, just because what you see now is "almost there" may be "gone" when she fixes it...and you may regret having asked her for the tweaks...

I'm just sayin!!!

I am also curious to see how many "rounds" of WIP pics you will be bestowed upon from the mighty Ada Chan. Let's see if you get beyond the second batch of WIP pics.

I wish you luck.

I have to say that my confidence is being somewhat eroded by the recent comments concerning Ada's work. If there's any chance that this Murray sculpt might change for the worse, then I'm okay with it as is... I only posted the suggestions for the sake of discussion. If this is the best we can expect, then maybe we shouldn't have her mess around with it any more.
