I wonder where Thor the Dark World was sitting at on the tomatometer during this period before it's theatrical release.

The mirror scene was probably the only great scene in the Robocop remake. It's the only memorable moment, imo.
Yeah, it was really brilliant, it was straight up horror.

But yeah it was the only good thing about it, I wouldn't say it's bad though, just bland and harmless, I'd rather rewatch that one than watching the gurlbusters.

I think this lukewarm reception is going to harm its opening more than the controversy itself, the controversy was priceless fuel for them.

It feels like the positive reviews want to say it's bad but they can't, so they're going "y-yeah it's ok, I guess".

Some critics might genuinely like the film, but some critics might give the film a good review to get their review and name on the DVD cover and on the commercials on TV.

That Robocop remake was really bad, only slightly better than the Conan remake. :lol

It was decent enough and I didn't end up hating it as I did watching the trailers. I have no love for it but it wasn't insulting either, like that other cyborg movie..

If you look at the Top critics scores on RT it's at 50% rotten, and falling.

True, and there's usually 30+ top critics so some people are holding their reviews back. I'd be willing to believe this is better than the trailers if
a) The movie clips and TV spots looked entertaining
and
b) the cast had made me believe there was a good movie here instead throwing out insults in response to criticisms.

Honestly it is (a lot better than the trailers).
Just like any movie you can tear this one to shreds of you want to.
But see it as a bit of fun entertainment and you will enjoy it a lot.
