I don't care how nice a person that guy is, just titling his YouTube video Ghostbusters 2016 No Review I Refuse was a douchey thing to do. I'm not going to feel bad for the guy because he got some mean tweets.

Wait, a guy with over 2100,000 subscribers and a movie under his own belt whose fans knows he loves Ghostbusters wanting to tell his fans he won't review the movie so he could avoid the overwhelming requests is a douchey move now?

thats his job though, hes one of the very first people that started the youtube game review trend, I think he might be the first one to do those.
you might not care about youtube and you might think it is stupid, BUT, as far as youtube reviewers goes he was one of the first ones and one of the biggest ones.

That would be like Richard Roeper saying he doesnt want to review something on the newspaper where he works... yeah who gives a crap but... that is his job..

He's been on Youtube since 2006 doing his AVGN sketches, he might be one of the first to do the whole internet-TV-show thing. Been a fan of his crude, foul mouthed AVGN character ever since, though in real life he's very reserved and soft spoken.

He's been around for 10 years, and he never makes videos to attract views or controversy because that's not who he is.

Not sure if I'm supposed to post reactions yet to the movie.
If you already hate it, chances are you might be pleasantly surprised.
The audience I saw it with really enjoyed it. It's a lot of fun, not as stupid as the trailers would have you believe.
It does have very silly moments which are awkward and pull you out of the pretty non existent storyline.
Personally I loved the VFX, and some of the scenes are really quite epic in scale.
The score was great, never heard of the composer before, but it was good saturday morning spooky stuff.
My biggest criticism of the movie is that it never seemed to get that edge that the original did.
It's not a disaster at all guys, but most of you will hate it anyway.

zero points go to Sony and their PR dept.

Like "Jerkassic Whorld" and "Da Farce Awakens"? Serious question.

Jesus man that's subjective. It's a better movie than JW. And that's a good comparison actually, it's a silly popcorn movie that approached in the right way is a fun couple of hours. But won't be in any top tens in the future. A couple of the cameos are good. Cinematography awful, biggest let down, Feig should have co-directed with a visuals person.

I like The Force Awakens (even if it is a SW greatest hits) a lot.. so I couldn't compare it.

Since I don't like the original I don't care what this one tramples on.

I might actually enjoy this more!

Then again, probably just as bad as the original.

Nope, very serious. :lol

I loved GB when I first saw it in 84 when I was 17 but thru my adult eyes I no longer like it.

I felt the same way. As a kid I enjoyed the original and was always a fan. I recently re-watched it last year with my kids as their first time and I too I didn't enjoy it as much as I remembered. Still was and always will be a fun movie. This new one just looks awful and like a train wreck, neither which have anything to do with an all female cast. The only actor I find somewhat funny is Kristen Wig. The comedy looks way too over the top, nothing like the subtleties of the original. And none of these woman seem to portray the genius nerds and geeks of the original cast from the released trailers. And what they did to Hemsworth in itself is a joke. Women wouldn't have been too happy if it was an all new male cast with a dumb ditzy big breasted blonde as their assistant. All hell would've broken loose if that got released. But men aren't allowed to complain about an all female cast with a dumb ditzy male assistant. Progress can't happen when there's double standards. And it's never a good sign when an embargo is enacted not allowing any published/written reviews till the evening after the movie has been released. And the fact they added a scene with them reading negative posts from a website is yet another big slap in the face to people expressing their opinions. That's not funny, it's tasteless and child like..... :dunno

What if a sports team did this kind of thing? Like, what if there was an NFL team that had average starters, a mediocre coach, and showed uninspired play during the preseason, and a bunch of fans piled on them on the internet. What would happen if that coach and team started insulting the fans, but still wanted them to attend the games? And then to top it off, the team conspired to give the fans who did show up at the stadium the middle finger during the game.
Hell, I've experienced that firsthand, when Mike Ditka coached the Saints, and flipped off the fans, grabbed his crotch at them, etc. :lol

It's not a private video that only subscribers can see though. Like alot of people who go to YouTube this kept popping up in my recommended videos to watch. I don't watch the guy, even though I'm sure I saw one of his videos a few years back. So millions of people probably kept seeing Ghostbusters 2016 No Review, I refuse and were either intrigued, or thinking "who gives a **** if you're refusing to do a review, I don't know you!"

I think this is the second thread that randomly closed after one of my posts. I'm assuming my fat thumb sometimes covers the "Close Thread" check box when I make a reply with my smartphone. Thread reopened.
