I think 3D is the excuse, not the actual reason. I won't see it in 3D.

This year, GI Joe was scheduled to release around the same time as Dark Knight Rises, Spider-man and the Avengers. Also ... Prometheus, Expendables 2 and Bourne 4 are nearby.

March is usually a dead time for movie releases. In the Spring of 2013, GI Joe will be a big fish in a small pond. In the Summer of 2012, it gets swallowed up by several much bigger fish.

It takes about 5 months to as long as 8 months to do a 3D conversion, and it's usually done in conjunction with the post-editing.

The 3D conversion might not be the real reason for the delay, but it's a factor or at least the impetus.

edit: I just read the news confirming the reshoots. Bad news all over. :lol

Which is why the Hunger Games did so well. I think it doing so well has officially extended the Summer blockbuster season into March now. Frankly I've never understood why studios insist on having all of their blockbusters out in the summer, or thanksgiving/christmas time. I thought the Hunger Games was brilliant for coming out in the 'off season.' If you're the big game in town with no competition on your heels the following week, then you're going to be rolling in dough for a while.

In the summer you really have to bank on a huge opening weekend because its all very down hill after that. Avengers just got lucky with very poor competition on its heels so its been able to be #1 several weeks in a row now. So HATE this move, it will probably do better for them now. But to quote Nick Fury, its a "stupid ass decision"

there are rumblings on other boards, that target is sending ALL of their movie toys Back to hasbro, due to a recall.

no idea if its true, or just a troll.

I can't imagine stores sending everything back. I mean that would seriously cut into profit margins for Hasbro and if all stores are doing that, then I think Hasbro would be changing their minds ASAP on the setback. Remember, Hasbro's #1 goal with this film is to sell toys and if stores are sending them back now that doesn't meet their goal at all.

Hey atleast they get there figures a whole 5 or 6 months before the movie is released. I still cant believe they delayed this movie for ____ing 3D. itsn ot that important.

So i just read they delayed this bcoz of reshoots? And they want Joseph Gordon levitt to be in it or something? :dunno

:rotfl delay for more tatum? Now my excitment for this movie really goes downhill :lol

Well isn't duke like the main character of gijoe. I don't know much about gijoe but every time I see a cartoon picture he's on it.

Never saw the first one, more reason to never see this one.
