I saw a bunch of Retaliation toys at TRU last weekend. Get 'em while they're hot. Hah.

Oh yeah, I forgot they released the figures in the stores too!

Retaliation was at least a step in the right direction. It looks one hundred times better than Rise of Cobra. And RoC wasn't that great...
At least there's characters "dying", the Joes actually look more militaristic than their ridiculous power ranger suits, Cobra Commander FINALLY looks like Cobra Commander, and even the ninja scenes look outrageously cooler.
I think considering that Hasbro probably thinks of their GI Joe franchise as their "number two" property behind Transformers, they probably don't want to F' it up a second time and feel they can have a better product with more time to refine it. Plus, it seems like they want to do enough to keep Channing Tatum in the role for any possible sequels. He's really been getting more spotlight as an actor, but boy...he was terrible in RoC.
It's going to be interesting to see what happens...
I bet there wasn't enough Flint in the original version. That's probably why it wasn't more successful.
So... why do they think putting more of Charming Tater in this film a good thing?

or reboot this thing, get a REAL Fan Director with some proper Costuming Direction from the Source (thats ARAH canon),proper Actor Casting, and someone who actually wants to make a good Film.....or just call it Enter the Ninja 4 (or something)

I've thought since RoC that Sideshow should have been consulted on costumes. I mean they've made their Joes realistic in a Nolanverse sense, but kept the essense of most of the characters intact. The movie designers haven't.
They say he is 'more famous' now and supposedly a bigger draw to audiences now
The delay and reshoot is a double edged sword for me. I want to like this movie. It looks good from what we've seen. But I don't want this kind of ploy to be rewarded. So I'm also hoping the delay only costs them more money and this flops. I just want to be able to see the orginal version somehow though, but I fear they'll pull a Lucas and claim it never existed.
Few months ago we brought you the news of an upcoming comic book by IDW regarding G. I. Joe: Retaliation.
Back then, we only knew of the name “G. I. Joe: Roots of Retaliation”. But soon we were able to know more about the book and the cover.
From the information gathered, G. I. Joe: Roots of Retaliation is a collection of reprinted Marvel G. I. Joe comic books which were the basis of upcoming movie by Jon Chu.
Now, Amazon is revealing what’s inside the book. The cover is now different as well, last time it was Roadblock who was on the front cover but this new cover features General Joe Colton. The release date has also been pushed back from June 27th to July 10th (At least it’s not 9 months).
Here are the Chapters:
G. I. Joe #21 – “Silent Interlude”
G. I. Joe #22 – “Like Chimney Sweepers Come To Dust…”
G. I. Joe #32 – “The Mountain”
G. I. Joe #37 – “Twin Brothers”
G. I. Joe #86 – “…Not Fade Away”

sounds like it had alot of potential.
Hell, Tater might have taken acting lessons, and not be a total duche this time too.
I guess it All really Depends on how much is being changed, and how much is being tweaked/added.
It IS possible, however unlikely, that they're just extending the early part of the movie, to keep "Duke" alive longer. He MIGHT stay dead.

Time will tell.

Yup. Given all his posturing on how poor ROC was and how much he was going to distance himself from it, if the director has any integrity, he'll walk.
