i totally think Cobra Commander would work in a dark navy blue, the hooded look is just about that even right?,Destro with a chrome head would work probally or just gun metal, maybe give Cobra Troopers Nazi SA helmets in a dark blue and just give them their same uniforms from the cartoon, all the Joes in the cartoon had costumes that would work on screen i think, i think hawk and flint in their cartoon uniforms would look great, all them would and i think it would had been cool to see a movie actually being more true to the source for once..since thats something rare now in movies like this..going the opposite route would help it stand out more(in a good way) Cobra Vipers would look bad-ass left as they look in the show,on the big screen.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt talks about his transformation into Cobra Commander
September 11, 2008

We've seen the rest of the cast for G.I. Joe in their costumes, but Cobra Commander has yet to be revealed. MTV caught up with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and he shared some interesting tidbits of what we can expect:

On the costume: “The cool thing about my character was that it’s not that digital. I get to put hours of prosthetic makeup on and see a different creature altogether. I’ve seen how he looks and it’s really cool.”

On the vocals: “I love that voice [from the cartoon], Chris Latta is a fantastic voiceover artist, but if you did that exact voice it would sound ridiculous in a live-action movie. I guess it’s half Chris Latta and half me.”

He adds, “Everything is different, I think it maintains the spirit of it and all the fun, but it brings the character into three dimensions. It wouldn’t look good if you did an exact replica of the cartoon. You wouldn’t want me wearing a skin-tight bright-blue dictator’s uniform. It would look silly.”

I would have liked a departure from the black "superhero/special agent" look that's so prevalent today. Not to mention it takes away a little bit from the one GI Joe character that was originally designed like that - Snake Eyes.

Second, I know it's military, and military=uniformity, but GI Joe is different. Their gear and uniforms (after '82 at least) had a distinct sense of uniqueness. Even if they wanted to mimic "the early days" of the '82 character designs, they should have gone more green. Black is so cliche nowadays.

There are things that work in Live Action, and there are things that dont. Transformers, as the show, would be STUPID in Live action. Thankfully they didnt follow it a 100%.

Transformers, as the movie, was also stupid in live-action. ;)

skin-tight uniform? Cobra Commander's uniform wasn't skin-tight...it was like any other military outfit.

Prothetics? I hope thats because his face is damaged and he doesn't have some stupidly designed helmet/hood...just keep it plain and simple and in the spirit of the original design...Cobra Commander is perfect that way. What makes him so deadly is that he can be ANYONE...ANYWHERE...he's the "faceless" villain that could be your next-door neighbor.

:lecture:lecture:lecture:lecture
Exactly my thoughts about this as well.
Also, we shouldn't see what Cobra Commander looks like in the very first movie, that's like unveiling Vader under the helmet in ANH.
I get to put hours of prosthetic makeup on and see a different creature altogether.
Creature????
This sounds more like a Cobra-La Cobra Commander. :monkey2
I don't think anyone on that film has a clue about what GI Joe is all about. Larry Hama would, but as he said he couldn't win every battle. :banghead

This is from AICN and it's a description of stuff seen in London from a Paramount preview viewing...

GI Joe – we saw a number of unfinished scenes including introductions to Duke, The Baroness and Snake Eyes. We also saw a computer generating scene which acted as a story board for the eventual filming. There was a scene where the baroness comes home to France and we got to see the mansion, another scene where a member of GI Joe is captured by COBRA, Chris Eccleston and Arnold Voslo both look on form. Finally we saw a scene which involves a MASSIVE car chase and the eventually toppling of the Eiffel Tower. The film itself look like typical Steven Sommers schtik, massively enjoyable, Sienna Miller looks amazing but I do not think it will fare well with critics, action is very stylised from the scenes I saw, the character development is terrible, Marlon Wayans in particular looked bad!!

They just don't get it, do they? :monkey2:monkey4:yuck

The CC uniform does not have to be "bright blue" it can be a more navy blue and work fine, and the Joes can fly f-14 tomcats(styled exactly from the cartoon) everything would work out if they stuck to the cartoon, at least 70% of the look..lots of people would automatically identify the characters and i think the movie would bring in a decent amount, more then what it will with these sheet looking character designs.

Toppling of the Eiffel Tower, sounds like a Team America remake. Bon jour.

Don't worry, the movie will be...bon!

I am looking forward to the G.I. Joe-Mobiles valmorphinizing from their street forms to their combat forms!

New interview with Dennis Quaid:

He says the movie is basically about "action and cleavage" and that the Baroness will have a "liquid armor" suit.

I think they should just change the title to "GI Joe: The Rise of Joel Schumacher."

LMAO nice, WTH hell about "action and cleavage" I feel it... I'm gonna get pissed off watchn this CHIAT at the movie theater!!!

Hey Khev, check it out my SE vs SS litho!

Quaid's stammering exasperation trying to come up with something good to say aboout the movie while being obviously embarassed to talk about it pretty much sums up this whole debacle.

Nice... :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Van Helsing was a major let down for me, I was really pulling for that whenever I saw the previews, once I watched the movie I couldn't take it serious!!!

Kate Beckinsale is what kept me watching to the very end!
