Actually, that whole thing sounds pretty g-damn bad and stupid.

Unbelieveably, this movie just gets worse with every new pic, tidbit, etc. I fully expect the trailer to unleash a new fury of shaking heads and laughter.

What an utter joke.

Hey, just my opinion. I'm only a casual G.I. Joe viewer, so I'm not as sensitive to the original mythology as others are (and I don't mean that in a derogatory manner).

I'm just saying: if they're going to provide an origin for Cobra Commander, there is plenty worse they could do.

Lets put it this way. imagine if they took batman and made him A flaming homosexual. and the reason he goes out night after night to beat up bad guys is becuase his parents rejected him, and beat him with a baseball bat for turing out gay. After killing his parrents, he now goes out to fight crime dressed up as a baseball bat. hence, he is now thw batman. Oh, and lets make joker his sidekick too just for good measure. Taking it a step further, since joker is a clown, lets make him the one allways pulling bruce back from killing, becuase killing is bad, and makes people upset, and clowns are, you know sopost to make people happy.


Could it be a good story? It all depends on the writing. Yes, That sounds rediculous, but what I keep hearing about the GI Joe moive is just as bad. Why pay all that money for a liscense, or agree to let your property be used as a movie, then COMPLETELY REWRITE EVERYHTING?! It makes no sense.

Appearantly a script leaked and was reviewed on LatinoReview, before Paramount asked them to pull it.

As to what, exactly, is going on with the Doctor...A friend of another board (who had read the script) posted this basic summary:

I thought this was a bad adaptation before I read that but now, Holy s#@!* This sounds so incredibly horrendous.
How can someone go that far out of their way to write such an appalling POS adaptation?!!
And reading Baron DeCobray just makes me want to puke.

Actualy, Baron Decobray WAS her father in the comics as well. Her Last name has ALLWAYS been DeCobray. That part is nothing new.

Really? Wow the comics must've been worst then I had thought they were.
still as a Kid you're forgiving of such things, while rewatching the Transformers cartoons I wondered why the hell I liked them as much as I did. And the old Joe cartoons are noticeably cheesy, but not really what I want in a live adaptation of it.

Birth name aside, I like that origin story a lot more then what I just read above.

That part about her being brainwashed to be evil and forced to love Destro especially irks me. I always saw her as a Femme Fatale happy to do terrorist work for her lover Destro, so the brainwashing stuff ruins the character.

I still think they could've just gone with a method like CBS uses for The UNIT and this would've made a great deal of difference instead of using "super suits" that are a cross between "RoboCop and Ironman." What's next? TMNT Mecha suits for battling Destro and his iron grenadiers?!

Looks like a fun, dumb action movie, but that's it. I really do feel sorry for the Joe fans.

That TV spot isn't half bad. Sure it sucks that Destro doesn't have his mask and StormShadow looks like crap, but Snake Eyes and the Baroness look decent. I sure hope the Effiel Tower falling over isn't just a training sequence or dream or something. Destroying something like that would really make Cobra look tough. I'm a bit more hopeful now, but it certainly isn't the same GI Joe know and love.

Sideshow really should have been the costume designers on this. They've been doing perfect with the GI Joe line. Elements of classic costumes and more realistic stuff as well. Perfect for a movie. At least Snake Eyes isn't that far off from their figure. Lets hope Sideshow doesn't screw up Storm Shadow like this though

Man, they must have done some major FX enhancements to Sienna Miller's boobs. Not even wonderbras can pull off the look she has in this.

G.I. JOE! A REAL UNAFFILIATED WITH ANY NATION HERO!!!

No American flags on the posters, no 'Real American Hero' reference (which is even Hasbro's name for the toy line) and not one American flag in the trailer glimpse. It's feeling like "UN International Not American Specialist Team GO!" without calling it that.
