Actually, I think they changed it. He looked at the source material and freaked out because he said that Gung Ho looks like...(you'll have to watch and see)

Good to see the actors aren't taking this movie any more seriously than I am. And Gung Ho with a beret. No Marine in his right mind would wear a beret.
Yeah, but it would have made perfect sense. Afterall, they did cast the dorky kid from "3rd Rock From The Sun" to play Cobra Commander.
And then there's the douchey GQ model playing Duke and of course Marlon Wayans...
There is the stink of foul taint everywhere you turn on this thing.

How about the Nerdy kid from Road Trip as Beachhead or Sgt Slaughter.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt's filmography post 3rd Rock is very impressive. Rent the movie, Brick from Netflix and you will never crack a joke like that again!
His casting as Cobra Commander has me very interested. That and Eccleston as Destro
He's still about the 457th person I would have even considered for Cobra Commander. Wrong age, wrong look, wrong everything.
eBay would be your best bet, because it's in between publishers right now and out of print.

Well, considering the Hulk reboot sucked worse than Ang Lee's try and Jane's Punisher (with the exception of the nail polish and the explosion at the end) wasn't really that bad, I really don't think the studios know how to make anything successful. War Zone was great until then they went and pooped in the soup with that BS anti-Bush scene. That was cornier than a popcorn turd!

Well i was referring to the recent Hulk and Punisher movies.
But there are lots of remakes that are better than the originals. A few that come mind are The Ring, The Thing, The Departed, The Blob.
But then there are those that are worse like Jackson King Kong and The Fog, Psycho.
